When Did We Go From Passover Lamb To Easter Rabbit And Eggs

When Did We Go From Passover Lamb To Easter Rabbit And Eggs?

We are all familiar with the story of Moses leading the children of Israel out of Egypt. To recount on the last night God tells Moses to have the blood of a lamb smeared over the doorposts to protect them from the death angel which will pass over that night. The first born of the Israelites are spared from death and those of the Egyptians are not. We know that they go out and nearly every year since the Israelites have celebrated passover. It was a command given by God.

Furthermore as New Testament disciples and believers of Jesus we also know that Jesus ultimately became the Paschal or Passover lamb forever. What we celebrate as Easter is really Jesus’ resurrection. In the Passover seder that is still celebrated today there are four cups of ‘wine’. Jesus fulfilled each one but it is the fourth cup, that is the cup of redemption, that points to His death, burial, resurrection. That is the cup that Jesus drank of in the garden of Gethsemane.

Christians all over the world are preparing to celebrate the events of Jesus’ final hours on Earth. It is ironic that Jesus celebrated passover, and He became the passover lamb but we as Christians have forgotten this and do not celebrate this. Instead now we have rabbits and eggs. How did the church of Jesus Christ go from celebrating Passover to celebrating Rabbits and eggs? What have we lost in not celebrating the Passover Seder?

The early church began as Jewish people who worshipped on Sunday but as Jews they continued to celebrate Passover. The early church Fathers tied in the resurrection with Passover. It wasn’t until the second century that Easter began to be celebrated with no fixed date. The eggs some believe represent the empty tomb and the fact that Jesus broke out of the tomb. None of these traditions are rooted in scripture or what we call “the Jewish Roots of Christianity. While we commonly use various symbols to explain things in Christianity they are never meant to replace or to be idolized.

I prefer to call the celebration of Jesus resurrection as ‘Resurrection Day’, since the term Easter is derived from the fertility goddess Ishtar or Esther, possibly Ashtaroth. While hiding eggs in the grass and finding them is harmless, to me, at least, the knowledge that hiding them on the day we are supposed to celebrate Jesus replaces all of that and brings glory to the fertility goddess. We have over commercialized a holiday supposed to be holy.

In the Passover Seder there is a part where the host hides a piece of Matzah or broken bread and the youngest child is supposed to find it. Also the children are active participants recounting the exploits of Yahweh over His enemies. It is fun and not only a celebration but we get to eat also. We are recounting the deeds of old and tying in Jesus and all that He did.

Somehow, somewhere we have lost the Passover lamb Jesus and yielded to a rabbit who gives out eggs. Children know that rabbits do not come from eggs. Rabbits and eggs are again symbols of fertility. Spring is often tied in with fertility, especially in wiccan and druid, and occult practises. Remember that the enemy always takes what is good and makes it evil or makes evil look good.

I think it is time we as disciples of Jesus put the lamb of God back into the Spring celebration. Celebration of God’s victory over all of His and our enemies forever. Passover brings out all of this. There is no command to celebrate Passover for believers and followers of Jesus but why not? In the Millennial Kingdom we will celebrate, at least Passover and Tabernacles, perhaps all of the feasts. See Ezekiel 45:16 and Zech 14:16

Nevertheless, we will gather with all of the nations around the throne and worship the lamb, not the bunny. Not an egg!

Revelation 5:12 “ “worthy is the lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.”

13- “To him who sits on the throne and unto the Lamb”

We worship Jesus Christ the Son of the living God, who is the Eternal Passover Lamb, The Lamb on the throne that takes away the sins of the world. WE celebrate life, yes but that life which comes from God and through His Son Jesus. Let’s put the Lamb back in the celebration of the resurrection!

Golan: From Bashan, To Syria And Back To Israel Again

Golan: From Bashan, To Syria And Back To Israel Again

Once again United States President Donald Trump has brought controversy with a statement regarding the Middle East and particularly Israel. Last week after nearly 52 years he became the first US president to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the area known as the Golan heights. This area comprises roughly 695 square miles and was given to Syria after World War I after the break-up of the Ottoman Empire. It was part of the French Mandate until 1946 when it became part of the Syrian Republic.

The Syrian army invaded Israel and was defeated in the six day war in June 1967. Later in the Yom Kippur War of 1973 israel defeated Syria in a great tank battle. This area became known as the Valley of Tears. In 1981 Israel annexed the territory known as the Golan Heights. It was never recognized by any government until President Trump did so recently. However this was not Israel’s first time owning and conquering this territory.

The Bible describes this territory in Numbers and Deuteronomy. In fact this territory is mentioned in at least 52 verses. The land that God promised to Abraham and his descendants through Jacob was vast and at no point did any of its leaders conquer all that was promised. Nevertheless we see the land known as Golan Heights today referred to as Bashan in the Old Testament.

We first encounter Bashan in Numbers 21:33, “ Then they turned and went up by the way to Bashan and Og king of Bashan and his whole army marched out to meet them in battle at Edrei.”

Who was Og? He was king of Bashan and greater was the fact that he was a member of a race of giants known as the Rephaim. Deut. 3:11 For only Og remained of the remnant of giants, behold his bedstead measured nine cubits (14 feet) KJV

As the story goes God told Moses that he would give Og and his people to them and he did and they utterly wiped them out. Og and Sihon were Amorite kings and the Amorites were among the people that stood in Israel’s way when they came out of Egypt. After defeating Og, Moses divided this land among the tribes of Gad, Reuben, and the half tribe of Manasseh, with Manasseh receiving Bashan or what we now call Golan. Later, when cities of refuge were established one was known as Golan in the land of Manasseh. (Joshua 20:8)

The land known as Golan Heights was formerly called Bashan and God granted it to the tribe of Manasseh, who remained there until after the fall of the Northern Kingdom. That land changed owners several times over the past 2700 years it finally came back into Israel’s possession in 1967. This has been highly controversial, especially in the Middle east and among the Arab nations. The world does not recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan, even though Syria was defeated. It is a good thing that the United Nations et al were not around when Og was defeated. It is sad that it has come to this in the world. The world really does not want Israel to exist. It has been war and war since God called Abraham and promised the land to his descendants, and to bless those who bless him.

The Psalmists and Prophets wrote of Bashan. There are the oaks of Bashan and the cows of Bashan. Jeremiah 50:19 “ I will restore Israel to his pasture, and he shall feed on Carmel and in Bashan, and his desire shall be satisfied on the hills of Ephraim and Gilead.” Micah 7:14 “ let them feed from Bashan.”

Psalm 68:22 “ I will bring again from Bashan.” Bashan was known for its pastures, oaks, and great views, or gorgeous mountain scenes. Later it became known as Gilead. This is the land east of the Sea of Galilee, and near the are where Jesus spent much of his ministry.

So then what does all of this mean? Once again we see God working through the years to bring Israel back into the land as a nation, and not just any nation, but a ‘blessed nation.’ God’s plans for Israel as a ‘light to the nations’ are slowly coming to fruition. We know that ultimately that was fulfilled through Jesus, but still, Israel has a role as she will eventually be the place where all of the nations come to worship Jesus, in the Millennial Kingdom. It is also the place He will return. Finally, God told Israel to expand her tent pegs in Isaiah 54, and to make room. This is a scripture pointing to Aliyeh and the return to the land. Israel is a very small country in land. From the Mediterranean to The Jordan it is only a couple of hours drive. It is roughly the size of New Jersey.

Is God expanding Israel’s territory for the returning sheep? Is He at this time bringing an increase in territory to allow for more to come home before the ‘hunters’ find the Jews and they face further persecution? I don’t claim to have all of the answers, but I think it is worth noting that God promised to punish Israel and He also promised to bring them back in the land and prosper them.

Either way we need to continue to pray for Revival in Israel and for the Salvation of Israel. Romans 11:26 “and all Israel shall be saved.” Also we must continue to pray for the salvation of the many nations surrounding Israel and that the Arabs will be used to ‘provoke Israel to Jealousy”, so that she will indeed be saved.

Zeal of The Sons of Zeruiah, Grace and Mercy of King David

Zeal of The Sons of Zeruiah, Grace and Mercy of King David

Hidden in the stories of King David and his triumphs, victories and setbacks are the stories of the three sons Zeruiah. Who are these three men and why are they important to the Davidic Kingdom? What, if any parallels exist between then and some of Jesus’ disciples? What can we learn from their lives?

“The three sons of Zeruiah were: Joab, Abishai, and Asahel. Now Asahel was fleet-footed as a wild gazelle.” 2 Samuel 2:18

Obviously, these men were important because a whole verse mentions them, and describes one of them, Asahel as swift-footed as a gazelle. Who was Zeruiah? Zeruiah was one of David’s sisters the other being Abigail. Most likely Zeruiah was older than David, because we see these three helping David in his hidden years and in the early years of his reign. Nevertheless, they were part of his family, which is important in how he deals with them.

The sons of Zeruiah were zealous to serve their king. Perhaps it was family loyalty or tribal duty, all being of the tribe of Judah, but whatever the case we find them always popping up to do the kings bidding as valiant, mighty men. However, we also see that unlike their uncle they lack necessary qualities all leaders, especially ‘new covenant’ leaders, need, mainy grace and mercy, or at least discerning when to demonstrate such, especially to the enemy.

What follows the verse above is Asahel’s pursuit of one of Saul’s generals who was of the tribe of Benjamin, by the name of Abner. Eventually after Asahel catches up to Abner he is warned to turn back, but without heeding Abner’s advice he succumbs to Abner’s knife, and death. Zealous for David and the kingdom but had he turned back as the story unfolds, he would have eventually gained a loyal ally. What ensued was Joab and Abishai avenging their brothers death by murdering Abner. David mourned Abner’s death. David is innocent of Abner’s death.

2 Samuel 3:28 “I and my Kingdom ae innocent before the Lord forever of the blood of Abner, son of Ner.”

2 Samuel 3:39 “And I am weak today, though anointed king; and these men, the sons of Zeruiah are too difficult for mean. May the Lord repay the evil doer according to his evil.”

Joab and Abishai wanted to avenge their brother’s death at all cost. Likewise they wanted to serve David well. Joab was the first to enter the Jebusite stronghold we know as Jerusalem and became the first in command of David’s army. Later, when David mourns Absalom’s death it is Joab who encourages David to go to his servants who had stood with him while he was on the run from Absalom. It is Abishai who wants to kill Shimai who cursed David when they were leaving Jerusalem from Absalom, and layer still wants to kill Shimai when he comes and repents before David.

2 Samuel 19:22 “ What have I to do with you O sons of Zeruiah, that you should this day be an adversary to me? Should any man in Israel be put to death today? For do I not know that I am king over Israel today?”

David demonstrated started grace and mercy to his enemies time and time again. On the day he regained his kingdom David does not see the point in any more death. There is a time for punishment, discipline and there is also a time for grace and mercy. Their are other examples but I want to look at Jesus and his disciples.

In Luke chapter nine beginning in verse 51 James and John aka “the sons of thunder” want to call fire down on some Samaritans simply because they did not receive Jesus. Jesus tells them that they do not know what ‘spirit they are of. It is interesting the same John the beloved who ‘leaned on Jesus’ at the Last Supper and his brother who was one of the first martyrs in the early church, are here being told ‘you don’t know what spirit you are of. Later, Peter is rebuke by Jesus and He tells the spirit behind certain statements to ‘get behind Him.’ Perhaps on those days Jesus was, at least as a man wearied like David by those closest to Him.

Maybe we are like the sons of Zeruiah and the sons of Thunder or Peter. We are close to Jesus, and we sit at His feet and we want to please Him, but we are so quick to call fire down on someone who cuts us off on the highway, or we want to take revenge for those who wrong us, instead of showing grace and mercy and letting the Lord dispense justice on our behalf. We should all appreciate the zeal with which Davids commanders, and likewise Jesus’ disciples show in serving and wanting only the best for the king and the kingdom. Yet we need to be like David and Jesus and gain discernment when to dispense mercy and grace. After all didn’t God the Father do that for us?

There are times we need to step out and not let others step on us or run over us. We need to speak up and speak out, but at the end of the day we are just vessels and must be led by the ‘Spirit’ which requires first being born again and filled with the ‘Spirit of God.” This is the kingdom of God and David first demonstrated that there are times where one should just smile and say not today. I am going to act with grace, and show the love of Jesus. Let us temper that zeal towards the enemy, that is the spirit behind whatever we face. Grace and Blessings to you!

Purim: Retribution For The House of Saul

Purim: Retribution For The House of Saul

The Jewish celebration of Purim is recounted in the book of Esther, and tells how an orphaned Jewish girl living in exile with her people rose to be the most powerful women in the Persian kingdom. It also tells Hadasa as was her Jewish name, was able to save her people from total extinction. I summarized these events in my previous blog. Purim is the plural of “Pur” meaning lot in the sense that something has been crushed or destroyed. It was begun by Mordecai to commemorate the defeat of Haman’s plan to destroy the Jewish people. It began on the fourteenth day of the twelfth month.

You may be asking what any of this has to do with The House of Saul, and better yet just what is the House of Saul. The House of Saul is simply the ruling or royal house and line began by Israel’s first king, Saul, of the tribe of Benjamin, Saul was killed in battle as well as his son Jonathan, resulting in a 7 year civil war between Israel and Judah, with David assuming the throne as the anointed king by Samuel the prophet. Unfortunately for David only the tribe of Judah followed him, the remaining 11 following Ishbosheth, son of Saul. David ruled Judah from Hebron for seven years.

The civil war between the House of Saul and House of David can be found in II Samuel chapters two thru four. If you recall, David was anointed king by Samuel but Saul remained king until his death. That brings up to speed regarding the House of Saul. Thus, there were only two actual rulers from the House of Saul. But, all of that is simply mentioned to reDavid was the king anointed by God, as God had chosen him. Saul and his family was rejected by God for disobedience.

I Samuel 15: 26 “ But Samuel said to Saul, ‘ I will not return with you; for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.” verse 28 “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to your neighbor who is better than you.”

Verse 29, “And the Glory Of Israel will not change His mind; For He is not a man that He should change His mind.” (NASB)

Thus, Samuel sought and found David and anointed him king, but it would be quite some time before he became king and then even longer before he ruled all of Israel. But, what happened that caused God to tear the kingdom of Israel from Saul? Why not just remove him as ruler and let the line continue through one of his sons? God had already chosen another as Saul was the people’s choice. He was from the tribe of Benjamin, not Judah.

We find the answer to this in I Samuel 15 verses 1-9. Samuel gave Saul strict orders to ‘listen to the words of the Lord,’! The Lord said he would ‘punish Amalek for what they did to Israel when they came out of Israel. Saul was charged with wiping the Amalekites out. He was to destroy all, including the oxen and sheep. So Saul’s orders were to not leave anyone or anything alive. However, he ‘captured’ Agag, king of the Amalekites, alive, and kept the best of the sheep. In essence by keeping the king alive and the ‘best’ of the sheep he disobeyed the Lord. Partial obedience is still disobedience.

Saul was rebuked by Samuel and thus by his disobedience he forfeited the kingdom. Samuel killed king Agag, yet somehow he had descendants to survive until the time of Queen Esther and the Persians. The Book of Esther chapter 3 verse 1 tells us that Haman wa sthe son of Hammedatha the Agagite, Sources confirm that Haman was an Amalekite, and descendant of king Agag. Perhaps there were some Amalekites away that day, we don’t know. What we do know is that Haman was an Amalekite, who were fierce enemies of Israel. We also know that Moredai, and thus Esther, since they were cousins, were of the tribe of Benjamin and descendants of Kish. Saul is not mentioned in Esther 2:5 it says, Shimei, son of Kish. Again sources confirm Mordecai was of the house of Saul.

Perhaps the text doesn’t mention Saul, since he was not thought of in good light after his disobedience and corresponding fall. Nevertheless, they were Benjaminites of the royal family of Saul, Is this a mere coincidence? I doubt it, further even though God tore the kingdom fromm Saul’s family, He still is a gracious God full of mercy and compassion. We see that here as he places the most unlikely person in the only place to save her people from their most famous enemy. It seems that even though Saul acted wickedly and prove unworthy to shepherd God’s people, God used descendants of his family to save all of Israel, in exile and in their land.

The fact that God would go to these lengths to set the right person in for the right time just to point out and see the demise of the most notorious enemies of all of the Jews up until that time proves His compassion, love, and goodness over His people. God rejoice over His people. He is for them. Even when we fail, and He must discipline us He is waiting as a good good Father for us to be restored. That is the message of the cross. Still, so many can’t get past the angry, mad God syndrome. He is angry at our sin, and hates it when we are disobedient, and yield to our flesh or the ways of the enemy. When we return He is overjoyed and delighted to see us restored. God was delighted to see children of Saul’s family over 400 years later have the opportunity to bring justice and defeat the evil plans to destroy the Jews.

As we move closer and closer to the return of Jesus remember that God is rejoicing over us and delights in us, and we are part of the plan to defeat all of His enemies. We are here to advance a kingdom greater than Saul’s or even David’s or any that has ever or will exist. Nothing can stand against the kingdom of darkness.

Esther 4:14 “ who knows whether you have obtained royalty (or come into the kingdom for such a time as this.” NASB

We are in the kingdom of God for such a time as to see all of The ‘Haman’s’ of this world’s plans come to nought. !!!!!

Purim: A Time To Fast and Pray For The United States

Purim: A Time To Fast and Pray For The United States

The Jewish feast of Purim will be celebrated this year on Wednesday, March 20- Thursday March 21. I felt like this would be an appropriate time to ponde and glean some practical aspects. I feel especially compelled for as many as can and will, if led by God to do some fasting for The United States as Esther did for her people. The story of Purim and Esther or Hadassah as was her Hebraic name can be found in the Old Testament Book by the same name.

The story goes as Esther becomes Queen of Persia, her Uncle Mordecai, who raised her and was like her father would not bow to one of the leading princes in the Persian kingdom. His name was Haman, the Agagite. He was an enemy of the Jews, and because of Mordecai, he, along with others, compelled the king to issue an edict that on a certain day all Jews would be wiped out. This was not the first and certainly not the last attempt to annihilate all Jews. The story takes an unexpected twist when Mordecai learns of the fate of his people and later Esther forces Mordecai to tell her. Esther, on pangs of death goes before the king to entreat on behalf of her people.

Esther calls for a banquet for her, the king, and Haman only. In the meantime she has asked for as many of her people as can to fast for 3 days and nights, not drinking or eating. This was a fast for her favor so that when she went before the king she would not lose her life but rather have the scepter extended to her, so that she can explain to him the plot to wipe out her people. The king had issued the edict but was unaware that his own queen was Jewish and that the plot was just that, a plot to bring genocide on a whole race just because one of its members would not bow to another man of higher rank.

The story concludes with Esther getting her banquet with the king and Haman and eventually revealing Haman’s plot. The king is infuriated and orders Haman to be hung on the same gallows that Haman had built for Mordecai the Jew. What an irony. There is so much packed in this short book of just 10 chapters. The name of God is never mentioned. However it speaks volumes and has so many parallels to Jesus as the king and approaching Him. How God loves His people and wants to do good, and much more.

I would like to call attention to the fast that Esther calls for. Haman is often attributed as Satan or our enemies, or even that which which opposes God and the Kingdom of God. Esther represents all who are desperate and need to come before the throne of God in desperation, risking everything for a miracle or a breakthrough. Esther intercedes for her people as no one else could. She was in the highest position, yet to approach the king uninvited, even in her high station, meant certain death, unless the scepter was extended, meaning it was ok to approach.

The United States is in a crisis of all sorts. Never in my life has evil ran so rampant. When Congress can’t repriman one of its own for Anti-Semitic remarks, and has to try to include every possible minority group for fear of offending someone, it has gone too far. Anti-semitism does not include Asians, Hispanics or the LGBTQ community. With abortion moving to infanticide being acceptable, and recreational pot smoking legal in more and more states, and now its hard to know who is male or female without offending someone we are in dire straits.

Evil has now become the new good in the United States. Never has a president received so much opposition even from the very ones he has helped. Christians are still afforded many freedoms and worship of God has been allowed back in the White House. Yet, many stil condemn the man that is helping our nation be greater than it was. I don’t always agree with everything our president says and does, but I still support him. Nevertheless, whether you like him or not we are commanded in the Bible to pray for all of our leaders. The nation is divided on so many fronts and worse the church is even further divided.

Satan has seemingly piecemealed all aspects of society and the church. Regardless of party affiliation, religion or other creed or belief we need to find common ground. The United States is faced with a generation that is more digitally connected than any before it, yet at the same time is moving further away from basica moral and ethical standards long held by most Western and eastern cultures. It is as if ‘anything goes’.

We need to see radical change and a radical turnaround.

It’s time to come before the King of Kings and make our petitions known for The US to turn from evil and turn back to the standards set forth in the Word of God. It is time to pray and fast for a nation that once was known for being ‘godly’. Things have never been this bad. We know that there is a great divide in all of the world between evil and good. The gray areas of what is good or right and what is not are now becoming more black and white. The lines are drawn. What will prevail?

It’s up to us the church to fast and pray and that others will join in. We want another Great Awakening but it will not happen unless we let go of somethings, like food, or television or facebook, etc. for s period of time and seek heaven and cry out for the US. Pray for hearts and minds to be convicted and to turn from evil and towards the one true God. Pray for racial reconciliation on all levels. Pray for the truth and righteousness and justice from the throne of god to prevail.

Esther 4:14 “For if you remain silent at this time relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews (US emphasis mine) from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have obtained royalty for such a time as this?’’ Nasb

We were born in this time and in this place. God has brought us to this time and this point in time to stand in the gap and make up the hedge. Purim is derived from the word ‘Pur’ which means to cast lots. It seems the enemy has cast lots on The US and has sought its destruction. Will you not take time and seek heaven on behalf of The US?

Receiving And Possessing the Kingdom Of God

Receiving And Possessing the Kingdom Of God

It seems I have been writing more about that Kingdom of God or also known as the Kingdom of Heaven. That is probably because I keep hearing about it everywhere I turn. Jesus spent so much time teaching about it. It is a common theme throughout the entirety of the Bible. The Kingdom is now and future, it is literal and spiritual. Ever since John the Baptist came preaching and Jesus established the Kingdom here as it is in heaven we have grown closer to the fullness of the Kingdom.

Who can be part of this kingdom and how does one get into it and what do they do? Is it s short term or eternal kingdom?

Daniel 7:13-14 “ I kept looking in the night visions and behold, with the clouds of heaven One like the Son of Man was coming, and He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. And to Him was given dominion, Glory and the Kingdom, That all the peoples, nations, men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away; and His kingdom is one which will not pass away.”

Daniel 7:18 “ But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, for all ages to come.”

Daniel 7:21-22 “I kept looking and that horn was waging war with all of the saints and overpowering them, until the Ancient of Days came and judgment was passed in favor of the saints of the Highest One, and the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom.” Nasb

The prophet Daniel prophecies about the coming Kingdom we call the Kingdom of God. What other kingdom was there in which the Ancient of Days, who is God gives to the Son of Man who is Jesus? The Father has given the Son dominion and glory and rule forever. What will he rule and who does he rule? Basically He rules the entire earth which will be renewed, and everything in it and eventually He and the Father will rule heaven and earth together.

But, Daniel tells us something interesting in verse 18. He says that the saints of the most High or Highest One will receive the kingdom. This is clearly a reference to the ‘holy ones’ or what we call Christians. It speaks of John 3:16 where Jesus explains you are born again or get new life to enter the kingdom. However, it must be received. Jesus tells it is to be received by faith like a child. Matthew 18:3. It is simple requiring that we only believe. Believe and have faith that all that Jesus is the Son of God, died for our sins and likewise conquered death, hell, and the grave, and offers healing, deliverance, and one day He will give us a new body. He will come again and rule and reign.

So the saints are the ones who receive the kingdom. Saints are not just someone that a church venerates above others where it is determined that they worked a few miracles. It is for all who follow Christ.

How do we possess the Kingdom? We know that that ultimately speaks of the future, when Jesus returns and establishes His kingdom for 1000 years and then ultimately forever. It also is for now. That is the paradox of the Kingdom of God. It is partial now and full later. We possess it by obeying the commands and following the teachings of Jesus and espouse kingdom values in all aspects of life, including finances.

Matthew 11:12 NIV “ from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence and violent people have been raiding it.”

It is not a physical violence but rather a spiritual. Yes, we do things like repent, change our lifestyles, surrender everything to Jesus and pray for starters. Those are violent acts considered as foolishness by the world. It is so violent it allows us to one day actually possess this kingdom and dominion and rule and reign with Jesus.

Revelation 20:6 “Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has now power over them, but they will be priests of god and Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.” NIV

Revelation 21:1 “then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and there was no longer any seas.” NIV

Don’t miss what God has in store for those who are willing to be violent enough to resist the temptations of this world and seek first His kingdom which is now and future. We can enjoy the future now but only partially. WE must still battle the evil around us but the King has given us His spirit and His word and an Angelic host to help us walk in victory now.

May the Lord Bless you as you receive and possess the Kingdom of God.

Ilhan Omar, Allegiance and Citizenship

Ilhan Omar, Allegiance and Citizenship

There has been a lot of talk about allegiance recently as a result of comments made by US Rep. Ilhan Omar D-MInn. To sum up her recent tweets and comments have placed those who support Israel, especially government officials as being allegiant to Israel. She also said it’s all about “the Benjamins” meaning money. Accusations that Jews control everything from Banks to governments have been going on for hundreds of years. Often there have been strong accusations that Jews have been the cause of wars and divisions of all kinds and it is the Jew that seeks to control the world.

What has all of this to do with allegiance and citizenship. For me I am a citizen of the United States and consider myself a loyal citizen. When we pledge allegiance to the “flag of the United States” we also pledge allegiance to “the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God.” The words Under God were added back in the 1950’s. Nevertheless that is not just a pledge but a declaration that we are one nation under God. That is all tribes, peoples and tongues. Even different religions who serve other ‘gods’. We are declaring the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ to be Lord.

My allegiance and citizenship is American but before that I am a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Philippians 3:20-21 ESV “But our citizenship is in heaven and from it we await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like His glorious body by the power that enables Him even to subject all things to Himself.

Ephesians 2:19 ESV So then you are no longer strangers and aliens but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.

AS disciples and believers of Jesus Christ we have been born into the Kingdom of Heaven and thus we become citizens of that Kingdom. Yet, we are still living in the earth in an age where even though the Kingdom of God is here it has not fully come, and the kings of the earth have not submitted to the government of Jesus Christ as King. So we are first citizens of Heavens kingdom here on earth and secondly citizens of our respective countries, mine being the US. The Heavenly kingdom will one day fully come to earth and the New Jerusalem will invade earth. Until that time we are subject to ‘laws of man and kings of the earth.’ It is not a conflict to be a Christian and honor your nation. However, when that nation oppresses its people or has laws that oppose the teachings and commands of the Bible then we have no choice to not follow that law.

WE already see Christians having to make a choice as to whether they will obey a law that opposes what the Bible teaches or to stand and so no.

Hebrews 11:16 NIV “ Instead they were longing for a better country a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.”

As Christians we are searching for the heavenly kingdom. We are waiting for it to be established fully even though it is already here. Muslims, like Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib are likewise loyal to Islam over their respective nations. Islam as also an invisible kingdom but it is opposed to the Kingdom Of God. All Islamic countries have a crescent on their flag(s). Praying five times a day or following the laws of Islam take precedent over anything else. Sharia law is the law of the land which is not good, and not peaceful.

There are many Christians and non-Christians who love Israel but do not put it above our allegiance to The United States. WE love Israel for many reasons. First because it is the apple of God’s eye Zechariah 2:8 ESV “ for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.” God chose israel for a specific purpose and it will be accomplished, even though Jesus came and His own people didn’t receive Him. Isaiah 49 speaks of a nursing woman not being able to forget her children, a reference to Israel. Part of seeing Israel fulfill its destiny as “a light to the Nations” is part of the Church’s assignment. It is that provoking Israel to jealousy.

Today Israel is a secular nation with few Orthodox Jews controlling the spiritual atmosphere. It was an American president, Harry Truman that first recognized the nation of Israel. Likewise it was another US president, Donald Trump who aligned the US and the world by recognizing Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel. These acts caused much opposition. The State of Israel is the only true democracy in the whole Middle East. Even though it is a Jewish state there is freedom of religion whereas all other are Muslim and intolerant to other religions. Turkey, Tunisia, and to some degree Egypt have a form of democracy.

It is important that the US and other western nations support Israel financially and militarily. Israel is a stabilizing force in that part of the world. Nevertheless I am not ‘allegiant’ to Israel in the sense that I put it above The US. Whereas, Rashida Tlaib wrapped a Palestinian flag around her after she won her Congressional seat. That is allegiance to another country, and she was not born there but has ‘roots’ there. I wouldn’t wear a British, Irish, Scottish or German flag or Native American flag.

The bottom line is those who love and desire to see Israel be all that God intends will continue to support Israel in various ways. Because we send money there or help Jewish people does not mean we are controlled by Jews or that Jews rule the world. However, a Jew, a King, Jesus Christ will establish His Kingdom but it will only have ‘citizens if the kingdom.” My love for Israel flows out of God’s heart and love for Israel.

Pray for people everywhere and in every nation, tribe and tongue. Pray for The United States and all that she is. Pray for revival and Awakening here and all over the earth. Finally, pray for the ‘Peace of Jerusalem”, Psalm 122.

Remember as citizens of Heaven we have a greater inheritance than what we have here.

1 Peter 1:3-5 Esv “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

Support the US, support Israel, support your country, but remember we are first citizens of the Heavenly Kingdom. Amen

Preparing For The Wedding: Acquiring Oil

AS times grow harder and harder with society and culture growing more evil we need to be reminded of our call as believers to prepare and be ready for Jesus’ return culminating in the Bride of Christ being ready. It seems that the level of demonic warfare and hatred of anything good and decent and moral continues to escalate. Many believers are challenged on every facet to fall into temptation and sin and ultimately apostasy. Jesus warned the early followers of such times, We are further from the day when Jesus first spoke about His return and likewise closer to the occurrence of the event.

In Matthew 25: 1-13 Jesus outlines what is known as the parable of the ‘Virgins’. This is a commonly preached and studied parable, but it’s deep meaning often overlooked. In this parable virgins are believers before the Lord who are waiting for the ‘Bridegroom’ to return. Jesus is the Bridegroom. 5 of the virgins add enough oil and were prepared, while 5 were foolish and not prepared. Most of the church teaches that we get saved and that is all that there is. There is no real emphasis on intimacy and living holy and as Jesus is really teaching here, to ‘watch and pray’.

Jesus repeatedly tells us we cannot know the exact day or hour of His return but He repeatedly gives us signs and things to watch for to let us know that ‘the season’ is here. Being prepared requires a lot of preparation. The enemy is pulling out all of the stops to pull as many as he can away from a love relationship with Jesus. As times grow harder and persecution increases we must be remain ‘burning and shining’ lamps for Jesus and His kingdom.

John 5:35 “John was a lamp that burned and gave light.” Here John is writing about John the Baptist. He referred to him as a lamp that burned, meaning he was a light, glowing, burning for the Lord. The people saw John and they saw the glow and shining light that he had when he spoke of Jesus and spoke of Jesus’ ministry. How did John burn? He spent a lot of time in prayer and fasting. He spent much time in the wilderness in preparation. He studied the scriptures and sought the Lord. He knew what his ministry was and what it would take to maintain it.

“WATCH AND PRAY”

Several years ago when I was at the Garden of Gethsemane as I studied the olive trees and the olive pressing process I was reminded of Jesus’ words to His disciples in the garden, “Watch and Pray that you enter not into temptation.” Matthew 26:41, Berean Study Bible. Jesus was praying and found his disciples asleep. He asked them if they couldn’t pray and watch for just one hour. I studied the scriptures, and I felt then that the Lord was saying this is the one thing I am calling you to do and really the whole Body of Christ in these last days. Yes. we need to evangelize, we need to serve, but above all else we need to ‘watch and pray’.

The oil is the oil of the Holy Spirit needed for ministry. Every born again believer has some sort of ministry. Moms, caregivers, business people, etc. as well as the small percent in full time ministry. To do whatever we are called to do we need all of the oil we can get. There are too many things pulling on us every day to lose our focus.

A Bride Made Ready

Revelation 19:7 “Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and the Bride has made herself ready.”

Here the Bride made herself ready, meaning she has to prepare, get clean, remain pure, get ‘clean linens’ and put on jewels, and all things a bride does in preparing for her Bridegroom. The Bride of Christ is no different. AS the hour grows late, and evil is more rampant, and persecution increases, we must go deeper in the word, in prayer, an in time we spend in His Presence, Acquiring our own oil requires sacrifice of time and sometimes money as we let go of some things the world see as important. The Kingdom of Heaven means that we live kingdom minded which includes watching for the King, watching for the Bridegroom, and burning and shining, like John, so that the world sees the Light of Jesus burning brightly and come, not so much to us, but the source of our light, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Before we can say “come” we need to have something for the lost to come to. We have to have water for the thirsty as Revelation 22:17 says, “ Let the one who is thirsty come; let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.”

Get some oil, get some water, and keep getting it, so that when the dark look for light they see us shining. They can also find drink. How can we expect there to be a great harvest if we do not spend time with the ‘Lord Of Harvest”? Lord we need your oil, give us each grace to spend time with you to get the oil, so that our lamps burn brightly. Amen!

Goddess Worship and The Spirit Behind The Rise Of Modern Feminism

Goddess Worship and The Spirit Behind

The Rise of Modern Feminism

Another issue that has suddenly gained momentum in the past couple of years is the feminist movement. Since the 1960’s there has been a steady rise of women’s rights, feminism, women’s health rights in the form of abortion, and more recently derrogoration of men and the man’s place of leadership in society. We have seen women like Helen Reddy, more recently Linda Sarsour exalt women as not equal but greater than man, and to the point that we don’t need men. Several months ago we saw two women’s marches that clearly says it all. The first group celebrated women from a BIblical standpoint, were ‘pro-life’, celebrating women and the God-ordained purpose for women. The other group, filled with hate for anything masculine, praise abortion rights, and homosexuality, among other things.

The attack has heightened in the last few months to a point that television ads during the Super Bowl mostly focused on feminism and diminishing men and making them look pitiful. I am not against women succeeding at what God has called them to be and do. But the sudden surge of feminism also looks at motherhood, at least in the Biblical sense, as an ‘evil’ thing. This goes beyond celebrating women and the purpose God ordained them for. It is not just in society but has crept into the ‘church’ as well.

I am all for honoring all women, especially mothers. God honors them and Jesus does too. God’s original design was for man to have dominion over all of the earth. Genesis 2:18 “Then the Lord God said it is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a helper fit for him.” (ESV) God created woman out of Adam as a helper. She was not created as insignificant of to be lorded over or treated as a piece of chattel as some culture treat them. Nor was woman created to rule over the man. God’s plan was for family. I am not talking about women ruling a nation or even having positions of authority in the church. I mean God’s design for family and even in society at large. Men and women can be supervisors, other leaders. What we are seeing in America and other countries is an all out assault on men and really the family.

1 Corinthians 11:8-10 “for man did not come from woman but woman from man; Neither was man created for woman but woman for man. For this reason a woman ought to have a sign of authority over her head.” (NIV) God created the woman for the man and the man is to be her covering, or spiritual authority. This design was put in place for protection. When we come out of God’s plan for our protection or our covering we open ourselves up to all sorts of evil.

There is a spirit behind the feminist movement which seeks not only to put women above men but put men under their feet.

Genesis 1:27 tells us male and female were created in His image. Not just male nor female. Verse 28 “God said, be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it.” Being fruitful and multiplying requires man and woman to come together as one under God’s plan. Rule together. What is this spirit behind the feminist movement and sudden hatred of ‘men’?

An old demonic ‘spirit’ known as Goddess that takes on many names and forms is ultimately behind this movement. It is nothing new. It has been working for thousands of years. Yet, we act like it is a sudden and new thing. In the past it has had names like Isis, Athena, Artemis, Diana, Mother earth, aphrodite, venus, libertas, portlandia, Queen of Heaven, Sophia, and Kali, and the list goes on. Virtually every society and culture has at some point celebrated goddess worship. Today it is also seen in Wicca, New Age, and now has lipped in mainline Protestant churches. It has been in Catholicism in the form of ‘Mary worship”. Yes, Mary was the ‘mother of God’, but not a goddess, and certainly not to be prayed to.

There have been Bibles printed either neutralizing God as being non-gender, or even replacing the Father with a mother. Some churches have replaced all pronouns and now refer to God the Father as the ‘Supreme Being’ or just God. It is all a continuous assault against God and His plan and rule and authority. The East and West Coast of the United States each have a statue of a female goddess from Roman mythology. New York and Oregon are two states where we see the feminist movement is its strongest.

As previously mentioned I am for women as is God, but from a Biblically standpoint, not to the point where women’s rights take the form where men are veil and abortion is cool. What must we do? We need to recognize the tactics of the enemy. It is going to build and only those who ‘have understanding’ will be able to call it out and say what it is. It is a demonic assault against God, the Church, Jesus and everything that is good and decent.

We need to love the people promoting and caught up in this false worship. We also need to pray that God would remove the blinders and unstop their ears, so that the truth would pierce the darkness. Pray for a revelation of the Father and of the Father’s heart. Jesus said, “whoever has seen Me has seen the Father.” (ESV)

Let us celebrate women as God created them to be. Mother’s, wives, business people, educators, students, government officials, and already equal under the eyes of God. Let us honor what God has said and not allow what is not part of His plan.

Socialist Government Kingdom Of God

We continue to be bombarded by the antics and tactics of those on the pursuit to make the United States a ‘Socialist Nation’ of some sort. The most recent comments have come from Alexandria Ocasio Cortez or AOC as she is known and her cohorts in the form of the ‘Green New Deal’. Likewise the list of political contenders for the presidential nomination of the Democrat or now ‘Socialist’ party has begun to emerge. You may be asking me why I am not just content to write about issues in the church or prayer or revival. Why have I begun to write on issues confronting society?

Jesus and Paul confronted the issues of the day. We see in Acts 14-19 Paul dealt with the same people we are dealing with in the world who oppose the Kingdom of God. Ultimately that is what this is all about. AS disciples and follower of Christ we must see ourselves as citizens of the Kingdom of God first and citizens of our various nations second. Loyalty a political party or politicians is never our goal, but as christians we must be actively involved in the affairs of our world. It is with that in mind I will attempt to compare Socialism, with all of it’s forms, including Marxism and Communism with the Kingdom of God and what it offers now and in the future Millennial Kingdom.

How does one become a citizen first of all of these two governments? A kingdom is a government. In Socialism a person is born naturally and the government offers healthcare from birth to grave. Also, the government forces their ideals on its citizens and they are not given any choices. In the Kingdom of God one is born again or born anew by his or her ‘spirit’ coming alive. In other words the spirit part of our being comes alive and we become citizens of God’s kingdom and have access to all that it contains. A citizen of the Kingdom of God or Kingdom of Heaven, also surrenders their life to to the King and thereby make Him Lord. Their life is not their own, but then neither is it in the ‘socialist government’.

The government in socialism tells you what to think and further this is accomplished by indoctrination versus education. In the KOG (Kingdom of God) it is accomplished through equipping saints, as its citizens are called, for ministry. This is done by study of The Word of God led by the Holy Spirit and various ministers and leaders appointed by the King. The government indoctrinates teachers and they in turn do the same to the children under their tutelage. Parents have no say and are told that they have to accept what government leaders think is best.

In the KOG people are led by the Holy Spirit who is also the spirit of the KIng. Through Him they fellowship with Him, the King, the Word and each other. Each one puts others ahead and thus are servant minded. In socialism the government has programs, and policies in force to ensure people are able to do whatever they want whenever they want. They are told who can read to their children at the library for example. You can have two mommy’s or two daddy’s or be whatever gender you want.

In the KOG their is only one way of life, that is the way of the cross of Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. In socialism there are many ways as long as it doesn’t include Jesus or go against the government mandated policies. The future is whatever you believe. Whether this is all there is or many more lives. You can sound your horn for call to prayer at any hour as loud as you want. Christians cannot announce their worship times. They must hide underground or in caves.

In the Kog there is either heaven or hell. In socialism there is the government and whatever your false religion teaches. In socialism each one is really serving the government. Helping the poor and needy is part of their outcry. But, they really don’t help anybody since they keep them in bondage. They even take away from those who are affluent enough and can help. They believe in poverty for all. Jesus said that the ‘poor you will always have’. He also taught us to help others out of love for Him.

Kingdom finances rule the KOG. That includes bringing first fruits or tithes, followed by offerings. Offerings help further the advance of the Kingdom, by sowing into ministries that help feed, cloth and provide for needs of all. Also, Bibles and education literature to train God’s people for ministry. The King raises up leaders from within the KOG to equip and train other leaders. In socialism taxes are raised by taxing those that have it until they are brought into poverty and wasting those monies on more programs that keep citizens in bondage. Programs and programs and more programs to educate, indoctrinate and further attempt to train people to work or in just getting by keeps each one more dependent on the government.

Rule of all the earth was originally given to one man, Adam, and his offspring. That was lost through willful disobedience, but regained by the second or New Adam who is also the King of the Kingdom of God. He planned for man to take care of the earth and that included animals, plants, bodies of water and the atmosphere. Even though man used technology and advances and made things worse, mankind must reverse that trend. However, forcing people to accept more programs without proper teaching which includes recognizing that the earth is the Lord’s and He left us to take care. There is a kingdom coming in the Millenium where we will do that perfectly under Jesus’ kingship. Until then we need to do a better job, but with sensibility not a pipedream.

The original man and woman were given the same assignment Jesus gives us now. That is to procreate and have dominion in all of the earth. This can only be accomplished when a man and a woman procreate.Socialism goes against God’s intent and says sex with whatever you like and calling yourself whatever you like is ok. Also, socialism offers free healthcare, which is not really free, but the KOG offers healing and deliverance. The KOG also, teaches healthy lifestyle to ensure you remain healthy. Divine healing is a result of the cross as well as freedom from bondage to the sinful lifestyle that socialism seem to espouse.

Ultimately it is easy to see that while socialism has values in helping the poor, needy, afflicted, ultimately they don’t address that spiritual needs. Further the Church, or Ekklesia or KOG should preach the full ‘good news’ of the gospel which not only touches physical needs, but soulish and spiritual as well. If the Gospel of the kingdom is fully preached it offers hope in the return of the King. His return will establish the citizens as kings ruling and reigning with Him. No socialist government ever offered rulership to its citizens as kings. Finally, all of the nations and kingdoms and kings of the earth will submit to Jesus’ rule. No communist, Marxist or Socialist government desires to bow to any King, let alone Jesus.

`It is the last point that really puts socialism and really all of the governments of the earth at odds with the kingdom of God. While I think our republic is a good form of government I know that soon it will be replaced by one from heaven, the Kingdom of Heaven, ruled by Jesus Christ. Every Socialist, Republican, Independent, Tea Party, Labor Party, Likud, etc. will bow to this KIng.!!

The Sudden Surge Of Anti-Semitism And The Church

The Sudden Surge Of Anti-Semitism And The Church

We have seen a sudden surge in anti-semitism in the last few years all over the earth but especially in Europe, and in the United Nations. Recently in the United States there has been a marked a lot of attention to anti Jewish and anti-Israel speech, and acts of terror, like the bombing of the synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pa.

I am not certain if there is an actual rise in anti-semitism overal, but rather more focus and attention has brought it to light. Regardless despite the thrust to be more ‘tolerant’ by most of society of other religious groups and ethnicities the Jewish people are still targeted as the single most hated group in all of the world for all times.

We have seen the United Nations pass resolution after resolution against Israel, while ignoring many terror states like Iran, and overlooking the fact than when attacked by Gaza for example Israel only reacted in defense. This all happening despite the fact that less than a generation ago we saw a near annihilation of Jews throughout Europe in World War II. This is known as the Holocaust, where over 6 million Jews perished at the hands of The Nazi party led by Adolf Hitler, among others.

Sadly, the church mostly sat by and did nothing or said nothing for fear of retribution. Those that did help or speak out were usually killed along side of Jews. We see examples in The Hiding Place, and in the lives of leaders like Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Throughout history there has always been those that hated Israel and the Jews. Most of us know of Haman’s plot in the book of Esther, and then Antiochus Epiphanes and the attempt to make the Jews Greek and do away with all of their cultural identity.

BUt, the church has not had a good track record either. Many of the early church fathers, i.e. John Chrysostom, Augustine, and later Martin Luther were very much anti-semitic. This is where the term ‘replacement theology’ comes in. That basically teaches that God is through with Israel, and the church has replaced Israel. While I believe that the Bible teaches that all must come to the Father through Jesus and that includes the Jewish people. The promises that God made are still valid and that in the last days we will see a mighty revival in Israel and among Jewish people world-wide.

Isaiah 49:16 “Behold I have inscribed you on my hands”

Isaiah 49:15 “ Can a nursing mother forget her child..”?

All of the promises God made to Abraham for his descendants regarding the land are forever, eternal. There will be a nation of Israel in the Millennial Kingdom. Jews have to come to Messiah Jesus to be saved but God has a plan for hem as a nation. Remember He is their promised Messiah first, and even though they, for the most part, rejected Him, He is their savior, their king. They are looking for one to sit on the throne of David.

Why has Satan tried so hard to wipe out Jews and to stop Israel from being back in the land? It has everything to do with His return.

Matthew 23:37-39 “ Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem you who kill the prophets, and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling! 38-look your house is left to you desolate. 39- For I tell you that you will not see me again until you say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.” (Berean Study Bible)

Here Jesus quotes Psalm 118:26. One of the three requirements for Jesus to come back to the earth is for His people, the Jews, Israeli’s to cry out, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of The Lord.” Will this happen during the tribulation or at the end, is not clear, but when Jesus said ‘you won’t see me again until… well that’s what he meant. He specifically wa talking about Jerusalem.

So, the enemy has tried for 1000’s of years to stop Jewish people as a people because the Messiah had to come through them. Further, he is trying to wipe them out so that no one will be in Jerusalem to cry out Psalm 118:26. Satan has pulled out all of the stops to try to prevent God’s plans for man’s redemption to come and for God to establish His Kingdom forever, first with the reign of His son, who is a Jewish king, from reigning with His ‘bride’ for 1,000 years, and then the eternal kingdom.

Racism is not new and will not be 100% wiped until Jesus establishes His rule here, and likewise anti-semitic hate of Israel and all Jews will not go away until then. But the church or Ekklesia at large must take a stand and stand with Israel, and all Jews everywhere. Currently there is a war in Eastern Ukraine where Russia has invaded and their are pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine fighting for Russia. The sad part is I have met Jews who have had to flee from the war. They say, ‘the hunters are coming’ referencing Jeremiah 16:16 where God promised to send fishers to fish the Jews out of the land of the North away from the Hunters. This is being fulfilled as I write. I’ve been and seen it, and the hunters came in 1942 when Hitler’s forces slaughtered more than 32,000 Jews near Kive in one day.

The time is near for the fulfilling of many prophecies regarding Jews returning to the land. The window may soon close and the ‘hunters’ will arise all over. When we see synagogues bombed in The United States it should not just concern us, but rally us that not only is there hate, but it’s an all out assault against any and all Jews. Many jewish people choose to remain here in The US, especially in New York for various reasons. They feel safer and feel like they have a better life here.

Regardless, we the church must pray for as many as will to return home to their land. Most Christians who don’t see any urgency in Jews returning have not been taught or simply don’t understand what the scriptures say. Many Jews do not see the scriptures as relevant either.

In his book, Our Hands are Stained With Blood, Michael Brown details the poor history the church has had relevant to the Jews. It is a must read. The church has done much better in the past 30-40 years, but I am afraid that a lot of what we see is merely an infatuation, rather than genuine love for The Jewish people. There is not real revelation of God’s heart. That is what is need, and that is what I pray that the church will get.

Pray against a spirit of hate and racism, especially anti-semitism, regarding Jews. Pray that more will understand God’s plan for them to return to the home of their ancestors, Israel, and pray that they will meet their Messiah, Jesus the Christ.

Rejoicing In Suffering & Persecution

Rejoicing In Suffering & Persecution

In the world we live in and especially in the perilous times we currently are in there is much suffering, persecution, and sometimes even martyrdom. People in general suffer from sickness, disease, poverty, hardships, disasters and death. Loss and suffering have been with mankind at some level since our first parents lost the original status in the garden of Eden after disobeying the commands of God. There was never supposed to be death, but that entered as a result of the ‘fall’ of man. So how can we speak of rejoicing in such evil times? How can we have joy when there is so much destruction, and evil and it only seems to grow worse?

Christians all around the world face persecution at various levels just for being Christian. Because they have chosen to follow and be disciples of Jesus they are faced with imprisonment, abandonment, loss of personal property, families being torn apart and ultimately death, sometimes violent. Most believers in The Western Church, particularly in the United States have no real understanding of persecution. We here have so many freedoms, and we tend to take so much for granted. Rarely, if ever do most Christians tell of the faith outside of the four walls of the church. Many don’t want to ‘rock the boat’, or upset someone, or get involved in matters that they feel should be avoided.

It is for this reason that we are faced with the current crisis here and in many western nations. A crisis where we are losing some freedom to speak or take a stand for our faith. Or when we do there is no real outcry from within the body of Christ. Many are left to stand alone to choose to take a stand against gay marriage or abortion, or just immorality or indecency. We don’t want to offend anyone, or hurt someone. While it is important to have good relationships with peers and co-workers, there comes a point where we must be recognized as true believers of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 5:11 “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.” (NASB)

1 Peter 4:12 “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange was coming upon you, 13- But to the degree that you share in the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing so that at the revelation of His glory, you may rejoice with exultation.”

In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus tells His listeners, which includes anyone now who reads and hears His words, that when you are persecuted, or insulted and when people say all sorts of evil things because of Him. In other words, if you ‘truly follow Him’, and obey Him, at some point you will be insulted, and yes persecuted. You will suffer. Suffer for being human is one thing, but for serving Jesus is another. Peter speaks about sharing in Jesus’ suffering. We forget that because we have been redeemed and Jesus paid it all that we still suffer like Him, and must endure hardships from time to time.

Believers in many nations today face suffering just for naming the name of Jesus. They don’t have to speak out against current events or issues. They just confess, ‘Jesus is Lord’. We here in the US have no real knowledge of the level of persecution and suffering the rest of body has in the world. We seem to be isolated or feel we are insulated against it.

However, there is a level of persecution coming that we never thought we would face here. AS times grow more evil, the church or ekklesia will grow more glorious. There is glory in suffering for Jesus, and I’m not talking about some unkind word. I mean for instance like the Pastor who basically lost his job because he said ‘homosexuality was a sin.’ He never said anything about the people, just the act is indecent and sinful. Yet, his congregatio felt that that was not the right thing to put on there sign. Or what about the clerk in Kentucky who was fired for not granting a marriage license to a gay couple because it went against her beliefs.

When we take a stand we must count the cost and be ready to suffer whatever consequences here man may offer. Yet we must rejoice. Keep on rejoicing. The revelation of His glory is a daily thing, but the full revelation of that glory will come in the Millennial reign as we rule with Christ. In John 17:13-14 Jesus prayed for the joy that the Father put in Him would be in his disciples. He said ‘the world hates them.’ If the world hated the early followers how much more are we hated today. Yet we need His joy.

John wrote to various churches in 1 John 1:4 that his purpose in writing was that their joy might be complete. In John 15:11 Jesus said that He spoke about abiding in Hi so that His joy may be in them. Whatever comes our way in this age we are not to let it steal our joy. WE are to agree with God’s word that we have the abiding Word (Jesus) living in us, and that word brings us joy. In Hebrews 12:2 we are told to ’fix our eyes on Jesus’, for the joy set before Him endured the cross.

There is an age coming where we will rule and reign with Him. Many of us will have a lot of responsibility while some less. What we do now prepares us for that age and how we will serve. We should weep for those that persecute us especially the lost or those perishing without Jesus. God doesn’t desire that any should perish.

Count everything with joy, esteem others higher than yourself for there is coming a day when we will have Jesus and He will make all things right. Let us run the race set before us with ‘joy’. Of all of the disciples John was the one that fully understood what it meant to have Jesus and the joy that went with that. He often wrote about joy and rejoicing. Yet, John was persecuted, so much that they tried and failed to kill him. He was finally forced into exile on The island of Patmos, where he received the final Revelation Jesus.

None of no for sure what we may face but one thing is for sure we can face it with joy and rejoice that we will be with him forever. We are part of the plan to bring restoration to the earth.

Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice!!!!!!! Phil. 4:4 my paraphrase

Don’t forget to pray for our brothers and sisters all around the world who are facing torment and imprisonment daily.

Donald Trump,The United States & Benjamin Netanyahu & Israel

We cannot overlook the fact that the situation in the United States and in Israel have more going on than one can realize. If we take events going on in both leaders and both countries we can see many similarities. AS Israel was chosen by God to be a light to the nations, so I believe, like many others, that the United States was chosen to bring the ‘gospel of the kingdom of God’ to the New World, without governmental favoritism, or intervention.

The modern state of Israel, however does not espouse its Biblical roots, and furthermore was intentionally founded with socialistic ideas. The first prime minister of Israel, David Ben Gurion used to Old Testament Prophets and their writings and the New Testament to help form the initial Israeli government. However, they allowed freedom of Religion, and many socialistic ideas were espoused.

Israel today is by and large a ‘secular’ nation. Even though the majority population is Jewish and it is a Jewish state, most Jews are just ethnic Jews and do not identify with any particular religion. This sounds good that there is freedom of religion, yet Orthodox Judaism seems to set the tone and policy for many rules and regulations.

The United States was founded upon Judeo Christian values and the earlier founders were mostly Christian or of those who considered themselves ‘deists’ they espoused those same morals and ethics. Both The US and Israel espoused the same Biblical standards with several deviations. Today there is a fight on as to which way each country will head in social, religious, economic, defense, and political arenas. The current situation in the US looks grim if you are a Christian or tend to have a Biblical worldview, or just believe in decency and order.

Likewise in Israel there are many who want to go back to more socialist ways and do away with all religion or even have all religions merge as one. Some would like to do away with borders, walls, etc. and there be one or two states but with Arabs and Jews mixed in and as they would have it, ‘all just get along.’ While it would be ideal for Jews and Arabs to live side by side and get along, etc. and in some areas they do but they are usually disciples of Jesus, it won’t work without Jesus at the head ultimately.

The US is face with a rapid increase of ultra socialist leaning ideas and a sudden rise to give everything away. In Israel healthcare is available to all and while there are many opportunities, the poor still remain poor, even poorer in some instances than third world countries. Abortion is legal, yet is in decline. Prostitution is legal but recent changes in the law will cause a decline in that as well. In two countries that one would consider to be bastions of Judeo Christian morals, ethics, and laws one would think that it wouldn’t be this way.

Both Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, the current leaders of The US and Israel respectively, are not considered ‘religious’. Prime Minister Netanyahu was raised in Tel Aviv by secular parents. Before politics his background was in the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces). President Trump has a strong background in business, has amassed an ‘empire’ before becoming the 45th US President.

Both men have been targets of investigation for various reasons. No one ever expected Donald Trump to become president, let alone accomplish what he has. He has turned the US economy around and recognized the proper capital, Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. He has done away with bad trade deals and bad deals with rogue nations like Iran, among other things. PM Netanyahu has beefed Israeli defenses to an all time high. He has strengthened ties with allies like the US and Middle Eastern nations.

Netanyahu has been described as a proponent of the ‘free market.” he has developed better counter-terrorism capabilities, yet I don’t support his views on same-sex marriage. Neither do I always agree 100 % with everything President Trump says or does I still believe that overall he is the man that God has raised up to turn America around from the path of destruction it is on.

Both Donald Trump and PM Netanyahu lost their defense ministers, and have shae ups in their cabinets and governments. Accusations constantly are hurled regarding business decisions, or military decisions. Netanyahu had to call for early elections because he barely had a coalition government. He currently faces possible indictment for bribery charges regarding his business. The Democrats have been calling for impeachment and investigating Trump since day one of his administration.

Yet, despite all of the things against these governments I believe that both men are there for ‘such a time like this.’ They both understand evil, and terrorism and seek to root it out on all levels. PM Netanyahu understand that the land should not be divided. God gave it to Israel thousands of years ago, despite what people say or believe, and it was forever. Both of these leaders stand alone in the World political community, as they are opposed to one world government, one religion etc.

So, with the similarities and differences between these two men and countries how shall we pray? Why should we pray for Netanyahu and the Likud party to be re elected?

The Likud is considered a right wing party and as I mentioned Pm Netanyahu understands the military and how to deal with the situation in the Middle East. He and President Trump will continue to work together to rid the world and the Middle East of terror, particularly from Iran. There is an agenda that has been set forth from heaven and we need to pray as the US has come into alignment by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the world will follow likewise. Pray that President Trump will continue to be a voice for Christians to be heard and not silenced.

Pray for the US to continue to be a strong ally of Israel, and to stand against anti-semitism. Pray for God to use PM Netanyahu to bring revival in Israel.

In the end of the age all nations will gather to battle against Israel, and somewhere in there Jesus will come back and set up His kingdom for 1000 years. See Zechariah 14

But all of the nations will come to Jerusalem, to Mt Zion to worship the Lord there.

Micah 4:1 “ It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established, as the highest of the mountains, and it shall be lifted up above the hills;

2- and peoples shall flow to it, and many nations shall come and say: ‘Come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us His ways and that we may walk in his paths.’ For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”

Donald Trump nor Benjamin Netanyahu is my saviour. Both are fallible men capable of sin like we all are. Yet I believe as so many others do that theses men are sent from heaven to do a job, to help prepare the nations to come to Jerusalem.

Finally

Psalm 122 tells us to pray for the ‘peace of Jerusalem.’ may they be secure who love you! Peace be in you for the sake of the Lord!

American Politics: A Distraction From Bigger Problems

American Politics: A Distraction From Bigger Problems?

The timing of the political turmoil in the United States may just be a distraction to keep our ‘focus’ off of larger worldwide events. While events in the United States are certainly of great importance to all of us, yet there are still a vast array of problems and situations that have the potential to alter events from a Biblically prophetic standpoint.

While we are embroiled in discussions about the ‘wall’ on the Southern border, child sacrifice in the form of abortion or even ‘infanticide’ in Virginia, socialism or even Marxism, and investigations of President Trump there is still a war in Syria. Persecution of millions of Christians continues at an alarming rate, while the church in America can’t agree that abortion is murder, and Acts 2-5 has nothing to do with socialism. We are so caught up in our situation, which is ‘alarming’, and we need to be, yet we have lost sight of world events that could open up a Biblical prophecy pandora’s box.

The war in Syria has been evolving since 2014. It has involved at one time or another with sometimes as many as 10 armies or coalitions of armies. All of the regional powers have been involved at one time or another, and two major world powers. The United States announced that president Trump intended to pull all troops out and move them to neighboring Iraq. Meanwhile Russia and Iran continue to dig in for what seems to be ‘the long haul.’ Is Syria important to the END TIMES? Is the fact that Iran is near Israel’s borders important to the End Times?

The answer to the first question lies in Isaiah 17:1,

“ the oracle concerning Damascus. Behold Damascus will cease to be a city and will become a heap of ruins. 2- The cities of Aroer are deserted; they will be for flocks, which will lie down, and none will make them afraid. 3 The fortress will disappear from Ephraim and the kingdom from Damascus; and the remnant of Syria will be like the glory of the children of Israel, declares the Lord of hosts.”

Verse 4 talks about Jacob being brought low. These verses have never been fulfilled, for Damascus is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. The fortress in Ephraim speaks of Israel. Many speak of Damascus being leveled in a war with Israel, but fail to point out there is war and destruction in Israel. So, this war is not something that will probably just end and we will all go back to the way we were. It has eternal consequences. The fact that Russia and Iran and Turkey are involved and even allied should alarm any student of Bible prophecy.

Ezekiel chapter 38 is commonly referred to as the Gog/Magog war. In this war a confederation of nations from the Middle East, North Africa and Russia attack and wage war on Israel.

Verse 2 says, “Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophecy against him, and say 3- Thus says the Lord God, “Behold I am against you O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, 4- and I will turn you about and put hooks in your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all of your army, horses and horsemen, all of them splendidly attired, a great company, with buckler and shield, all of them wielding swords.’”

5- Persia, Ethiopia, Put (Libya), with them, all of them with shield and helmet, 6- Gomer with all of its troops, Beth-togarmah from the remote parts of the north with all of its troops– many peoples with you.

The chapter continues to outlay events that have occurred in the past 100 or so years and continue to develop as hundreds of Jews return to their homeland after being scattered for nearly 2000 years. It goes on to say that Israel will live safely in the land called a land of ‘unwalled villages’, or open country. That is a reference to days of old where villages all were surrounded by a wall. The wall in Israel separates the West Bank Territory from Israel for safety and security.

The nations listed are nearly the same ones currently involved in the current situation in Syria. How Libya and Ethiopia or North Africa come in is yet to be seen. Currently as I write Iran and Syria are encroaching on the Northern border of Israel near the Golan Heights, a territory that Israel won as a result of Syria’s defeat in the ‘Six Day War.’ Russia has an army there and in case you are wondering, Turkey is involved as they are generally thought to be Gomer. The house of Togarmah is generally believed to be a people group from southwest Turkey. I doubt they are the Kurds since the Turks hate them.

There is so much that can be said. With the United States not mentioned in the prophecy we are not sure of her role. But, the nations that attack Israel will face intervention by God on behalf Of Israel. No one knows whether or not the current crisis in Syria will lead to the Ezekiel 38 prophecy, but one thing is clear, everything is set for that event to unfold. Yet, before Jesus comes back He told us in Matthew 24:14 that the gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all of the nations. That has not occurred but is rapidly being fulfilled.

The end result is that we need to be ever mindful of events in places other than our back door. It is easy to get caught up in the politics, and issues, and praying for our President and the nation, while forgetting that we are just one of hundreds of nations and tribes in the earth. Pray for the Crisis in Syria, pray for Israel, and for Iran to stop nuclear proliferation, and pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray for the issues in society but pray for a wide sweeping revival in all of the nations. There will be a harvest before Jesus comes back, and there will be more evil. We must keep our eyes on Jesus, and remember that we are first citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Revelation 22:20 “Even So come Lord Jesus!”

Atlanta, Super Bowl Weekend, And Modern Slavery

Atlanta, Super Bowl Weekend, And Modern Slavery

One of the largest and most widely celebrated major sports events in the United States and perhaps the world will take place this coming Sunday in Atlanta, Ga. At the same time one of the often overlooked and forgotten horrors of society worldwide will be bringing millions of dollars just in Atlanta. In 2014-15 Atlanta was ranked number one in the United States in human trafficking, in terms of money made, and also number of victims. This is due in large part to the large number of conventions and events that Atlanta attracts.

Why would this event in this city be of utmost importance to me? Obviously as a born again Christian I believe that it is wrong for humans to be forced to do anything against their will, especially to take woman and children and force them to commit sex acts against their will. Further the pornography industry has grown to alarming rate due to the internet. People involved in this industry usually are trapped for various reasons, including the promise to make big sums of money.

Likewise, prostitution is also considered by many a form of ‘slavery’ even though the women are paid, and often call it a career, they are trapped because they feel they can’t do anything else. Not to mention the shame and guilt that is heaped on by those that are over them and the mind games. According to the ministry Exodus Cry, “ Prostitution is primarily the lack of a choice among the most marginalized, defenseless, and vulnerable people in the world.” In other words those that are marginalized or defenseless and vulnerable are not really given a choice. The same could be said I think, for many caught up in the drug trade.

The fact is whether one is paid like a prostitute or forced to perform sex acts they are trapped and usually feel there is no other choice, or no real way out. Human trafficking is a highly organized and lucrative business generating over 150 billion USD annually and 2/3 of that from prostitution says the Exodus Cry website. What is a good definition of human trafficking? The most widely accepted definition which was adopted by the UN General ASsembly and accepted by 150 nations is known as the Palermo Protocol.

It defines Human Trafficking

“The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation.”

There are some key words to ponder. Exploitation, abduction, and coercion are what really stick out for me. I think that is true for all forms of trafficking including pornograpic videos and images and yes, even strip bars as well. These women and sometimes men are being exploited even though they will often say, ‘I gotta make a buck”.

So, what is the big deal about the Super Bowl? We know that Atlanta is already one of the largest markets for human trafficking and sex slavery in the world. We also know that as much as people like sports and watching a ‘good game of football’, it is a lot more than just that. It is a big, big party where billions of dollars will be made from gambling and betting, not to mention the gains of the city of Atlanta, hotels, restaurants, and not to mention all of the parties that will be going on during the game. Many will buy snacks, party food, finger food, drinks, and all sorts of party favors. So, the Super Bowl is big business.

There is that hidden or forgotten business of men’s souls that will be overlooked. The real losers in this weekend’s events will be the victims who will be forced, coerced, extorted and held into all sorts of acts of bondage, mostly against their will. Fortunately there are a lot of prayer groups coming together for a concerted effort to cancel the enemy’s plans.

Does the Bible describe the events I have discussed? Does it speak of a system where men trade various things of this world including the souls of men? Yes, it most certainly does and I will look at that.

Revelation 18 talks about the coming fall of the ‘Babylon System’ or the world’s way to do things, Revelation 18:2 (ESV) and he (the angel) called out with a mighty voice , “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast. 3- For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.”

I wrote about the ‘kings of the earth’ in a previous article. But, clearly the rulers of nations and business, and media, and arts, sports are following after the Babylon system and have perverted so many things that God called good. There is nothing wrong with merchants profiting and making a living from selling honest goods and services. What is wrong is when they build their empire and never help anyone out or still never pay fair prices or wages or tip the scales unjustly. There are many good and honest people in all spheres of society, but there are so many built on indecency, dishonesty, and various forms of sordid gain. But our focus here is on something else that is being traded.

Vers 11-13 “ And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her (Babylon). Since no one buys their cargo anymore, cargo of gold, silver jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, scarlet cloth, all kinds of scented wood, bronze, iron, and marble cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, flour wheat, cattle and sheep, horses, and chariots, and slaves, that is human souls.” ESV

Yes, slaves and human souls are mentioned as being traded as part of the world system. I am not talking just about slavery as people working in fields or building pharaoh’s buildings. No we are talking about women and children and sometimes men trapped as sex slaves. So what can be done? Laws exist or are being passed and introduced to limit, alter, or in many countries end sex slavery. Israel, one of the worst offenders, recently passed new legislation limiting prostitution or redefining it. Sweden has one of the harshest laws against prostitution. Many nations are now adopting similar laws to the ‘Swedish model”.

Passing laws is good but they must be enforced. Likewise what is to be done to the children and women who come out of a life of ‘sex slavery’? They are often very fragile and are not trusting of most people. Especially men. Then there are the pimps or slave masters themselves. Many of them are also trapped in a system. We need to pray for the souls of those in bondage and those forcing the bomdage. Pray for their salvation and for the fire of the Holy Spirit to burn in their lives. Pray that they are discipled in the truth of God’s word.

Jesus read Isaiah 61 in the synagogue, saying “the Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, to bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, and opening up of prison to those that are bound.”

Isaiah 1:17 learn to do right, seek justice. Defend the oppressed…….

There are many verses about justice, but these are just a few. There are many ministries that focus on “human trafficking”. A few are Exodus Cry, Out of Darkness, CBN, The Hand of Hope, There are many but as you look for one to support prayerfully or financially or just for information be sure to check various sources. The key is we all need to become ABOLITIONISTS to END SEX Slavery not just in America but worldwide.

Isaiah 16:4b “ when the oppressor is no more, and destruction is ceased, and he who tramples underfoot has vanished from the land, 5- then a throne will be established in steadfast love, and on it will sit in faithfulness in the tent of David one who judges and seeks justice and is swift to do righteousness.”

Jesus will establish His throne in Jerusalem and not only rule but judge and bring justice and righteousness. We pray in agreement for justice and righteousness to be established in these situations to end human trafficking in Atlanta and all over the world.

New York: Where Baal and Molech Want Your Children

New York: Where Baal and Molech Want Your Children

The above sign appears at the arrival gate when one enters the state of New York and New York City at JFK airport. Unfortunately, that welcome mat is no longer a guarantee to thousands of unborn children. Yes children! A woman can now carry a baby full-term and still have a ‘legal’ abortion performed. This was signed into law under the disguise of ‘only for women whose lives are at risk.’ Studies show that less than 1% of all abortions performed are the result of the woman’s live being at risk.

What is really at risk here? According to Governor Cuomo and the Democratically controlled legislature of New York, ‘we are afraid that Roe v. Wade will be overturned and we are guaranteeing women’s reproductive rights at the state level.” When Gov. Cuomo spoke about the new law he, along with other lawmakers stood at a blue podium with the caption Reproductive Justice No Time To Wait. Wow, talk about an irony. What kind of justice are they referring to?

Aside from the various Bible verses there is enough proof that life begins at conception. Further, why would a woman carry a baby full term and decide to not have it? Obviously there are cases of rape, incest, and the mother’s life risk that are often considered. However, overall there are always many waiting to adopt. There are always people who want to have children and yet can’t and desire to adopt and are required to go through so many various hoops in order to finally get a child to raise as their own. Worse is the fact that a woman can have a one night stand and turn up pregnant only to walk into a doctor’s office and get an abortion under the cover of ‘women’s reproductive health.’

I am more than sympathetic to those who have been raped and abused. It is most unfortunate. Most of the abortions performed in the United States are not due to rape or incest nor the risk of the life of the mother. All that to say, what is really going on? What has New York just done? The state of New York operates a website for child abuse and protective services. If someone suspects or knows of a child being abused they are supposed to report it. Also, there is a list at their website that details who is ‘required’ by law to report child abuse. Among those listed are physicians, nurses, the coroner, medical examiner, and other health care officials.

The same health care officials who are required by law to report the abuse of a child, are possibly the same ones who will be killing or murdering many unborn healthy children. Where is the justice in that? 5 minutes maybe 10 can mean the difference in what is a crime in New York. Worse is the fact that the lawmakers are praising this. Where is the justice?

I worked in healthcare for nearly 3 decades and came in contact with many situations and have a full appreciation of the matters at hand.

I understand that many in all levels of society do not have a Biblical worldview. Others meanwhile, do have a Biblical worldview but they have erroneous teaching are worse have been convinced by bad medical claims that it is not murder, or it is a ‘woman’s right to choose’. Yes there is a choice. What about the choice of the unborn.

So what does the Creator have to say about all of this? I have previously written about Molech in Amos 5, and the Children of Israel passing their children through the ‘fire’ or offering their children to this false god.

Consider the following verses:

Jeremiah 32:35, “they built the high places of Baal that are in the valley of Ben-hinnom to cause their sons and daughters to pass through the fire to Molech, which I had not commanded them nor had it entered My mind that they should do this abomination to cause Judah to sin.”

Leviticus 18:21, “ you shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of the Lord your God; I am the Lord.”

I can hear some people saying ‘well that is Old Testament!’ Remember the Old has not passed away and further Jesus took the commandments higher. The Old points to the New. We are quick to say ‘thou shalt not murder.’ That is part of the Old Testament which we as New Testament believers are under but Jesus gave us power to live it out and if we sin then we have the blood of Jesus as our sacrifice and we can repent and be forgiven. Wow, God is good.

But we see that God strictly forbade His people to act as the other people around them in allowing or causing their children to ‘pass through the fire’ in being offered to Molech. The god Molech was made by man’s hands of metal, probably bronze, and in its belly a fire was lit and later children were placed in there above the coals and left in there to be basically burned alive, thus the term ‘pass through the fire.’

In 2 Kings 3:27 the king of Moab saw that the battle was turning against him and ‘he took his oldest son, who was to reign in his place, and offered him as a burnt offering on the wall. You see, it is the heathen, or pagan peoples who offered their children to false gods.

Psalm 106:35, “ but they mingled with the nations and learned their practices, 36- and served their idols, which became a snare to them. 37- they even sacrificed their sons and daughters to the demons.” (NASB)

God had forbidden Israel to offer their children to false gods or demons, yet as we read they mingled with the other nations and took up their practices. This is what happens when we allow the world to ‘mingle’ with the Church and we adopt their practices instead of keeping Jesus’ teachings and further teaching and discipling the nations as we were commanded by Jesus. Thus in America and in any nation where abortion or any form of child sacrifice exists we have come to allow our children to be offered to false gods. I’m sure many are offended and many see what I am teaching as too extreme. Unfortunately, we can’t cover it up or disguise it any longer.

What are we to do then? First we must pray and intercede for the United States as a nation, and then for all states. We need to pray for the Supreme Court in possibly overturning Roe v. Wade. When this happens and legislation is in turn sent to the states to pass we must pray that each state is ready to pass legislation making abortion illegal. I’m sure that there will be as I believe there should be few if any exceptions. Such as, rape, or incest or the mother’s life. There will need to be education, science, medical and other. We must pray for people’s hearts to be turned back to The Father through Jesus as that is really the only way.

Lord help us! Lord forgive us!

God’s Plan For The Palestinian Arabs

God’s Plan For The Palestinian Arabs

With so much in the news about Israel and Palestine, or the West Bank and Gaza, and the fact that I have written so much recently about Israel, and the history of the situation there I felt led to delve into the Word and look at God’s heart for the Arabs in Israel, Palestine and all of the nations. I tell people I have a heart for the nations, but certainly all believers should because that is God’s heart.

I recently wrote detailing the events of the modern state of Israel and how the current situation came to exist. For more details refer to my January 14 article entitled “Rashida Tlaib, Trump and 1967.” I present a lot of facts and delve into God’s heart and plans for Israel, and the Blessings and Curses mention in Genesis 12. There are six promises or “Abrahamic blessings” as they are often called. They are specific to the son of ‘promise’, Isaac, not Ishmael. So, if Israel is God’s chosen people, and even though they rejected His Son whom He sent them first, what do we do with the Arabs who now reside in Israel and Palestine? Are there specific verses mentioning them?

There are in fact several passages that mention Edom, or the descendants of Esau. Most scholars agree that the descendants of Esau are the Arabs of Jordan, and the Palestinians Arabs. The land of the Edomites was southeast of the land given to the children of Israel, and was also in the path they took as they went to cross the Jordan and enter the promised land. The Israelites and Edomites often fought, and sometimes Edom allied with the Southern Kingdom and occasionally the Northern Kingdom against common enemies like the Moabites and Syrians.

Also, when Mt. Seir is mentioned it is referring to Esau and Edom. Edom has been a natural enemy of Israel since the two brothers parted ways. Even though Jacob and Esau met and reconciled in the wilderness, their descendants continued to be at odds. After the Children of Israel went into the promised land the Edomites continued to taunt them, but occasionally as mentioned before they united against a common enemy. Several prophecies were written where God basically said he would wipe Edom out. Consider the short book of Obadiah is a record of the vision that the prophet had demonstrating God’s intent to ‘wipe out’ Edom. Other prophets that prophesied against Edom include Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Joel, and Amos.

What was it that caused God to have His prophets declare Edom to ‘become a wilderness?’ Consider Psalm 137:7, “Remember Lord, what the Edomites did on the day Jerusalem fell. “Tear it down”, they cried, “tear it down to its foundations.”! Or look at Obadiah 10-14. Vers 10 declares, “Because of violence to Your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame, and you will be cut off forever.” Amos 1:11 speaks of Edom pursuing his brother with the sword, and God not revoking their punishment.

Basically, what Edom did was when Babylon finally came into Jerusalem and began removing people and loot, etc. the Edomites said, hey let us destroy the temple, we will help you empty it of its contents. This is what the prophets are crying out for in demanding justice against the Edomites. They basically participated in the destruction of the first Temple. As time went on the Edomites spilled over into the Negev or southern area of Israel and Judah. By the time of the Romans there was even a province named Idumea after the Edomites. It is not clear how many were actually descendants of Esau, scholars and historians generally agree there were Jews living in the area we now call Palestine, as well as some Edomites. Over the 2,000 years following the second Temple destruction various empires, kingdoms, and nations ruled that area.

By the time of the Balfour Declaration there were Jews and ‘Arabs’ living in the area known as Palestine. These Arabs, as I mentioned are considered to be descendants of the Edomites. Also, the southern and central Jordanians also considered descendants of Edom, and some Moab. We all know that this has been going on for thousands of years. But, what is God’s plan to bring reconciliation to the children of Jacob and Esau, or is it possible until Jesus comes back? Psalm 83 lists a number of nations that wish to conspire to ‘wipe Israel out from being a nation’. Among them are the ‘tents of Edom.’ This speaks of of refugees or tent dwellers, much like the Palestinian Arabs lived after the 1948 War. Does God have a plan for the Palestinian Arabs?

The plan for the Palestinian Arabs is the same as the plan for the Jews, and the same for all nations. Jesus commanded His disciples to preach the gospel to all nations and make disciples of all nations. (mark 16, Matthew 28:18-20) He also said that the gospel of the kingdom shall be preached to all nations as a witness, Matthew 24:14. In Revelation 4 and 5 we see all of the nations gathered around God’s throne worshipping the lamb. So we see God intends for all nations discipled, saved and worshipping Jesus. ‘My house shall be called a House of Prayer for All Nations.’ Isa. 56:7.

However, we saw God sent various prophets to denounce what Edom did in helping Babylon, and further it seems He intended to wipe them out and punish them. Yet, there are still a few million of them around. Does God really want to save the descendants of Esau? Of course. I have actually met many such believers. But there is a greater purpose than just salvation. First of all there is an obscure verse that speaks of this. Amos 9:12 is part of the group of verses that speak of restoring the Tabernacle of David. Further these verses were quoted in Acts 15 by James as he decided that the gospel was for Jew and Gentile, and that the Gentiles could receive it without converting to Judaism, i.e. circumcision.

Amos 9: 11 ‘ In that day I will raise up the fallen down booth of David, and wall up its breaches; I will also raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old.

12 that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all of the nations who are called by My name, Declares the Lord who does this.’

The Tabernacle of David was a tent with the ark of the covenant open to all worshipers. Restoration of the tabernacle of David has a few manifestations, including Jesus, who restored the Davidic kingdom as a ‘spiritual’ one, uniting all nations through the Gospel and New Covenant. There is then the Messianic aspect, and then the prayer and worship aspect, for all nations. The remnant of Edom seems to be talking about just what we see today. Some interpret that verse as Israel occupying Edom, but I see the Jews brought the gospel through Jesus and yet they denied Him.

The final and greatest plan God has for the Palestinian Arabs is not just salvation, but being part of the One New Man, and provoking Israel to jealousy as Paul wrote. Ephesians 2:14-16 deals with the idea of the ‘One New Man.’ What do we mean by that? In Jesus the middle wall that seperated gentiles, or nations, from Jews was broken down. In Jesus we all have access to Father God and eternal life and all that He has provided in His death and resurrection and ascension to sit on His throne at the right hand of the Father, and His soon coming!

In Romans 11 Paul is speaking to the Church at Rome regarding Israel and the fact that God has not forsaken her, and in verse 29 he declares, “All Israel will be saved”. However, he mentions his ministry to the gentiles that was magnified in that he might move some Israelis to jealousy to come to Yeshua. Likewise I believe that as Arabs, whether Palestinian, Jordanian, Saudi, or whatever come to salvation in Jesus that more Jews will come to that same saving knowledge.

So, the ultimate plan of God is that the remnant of Edom, or Palestinians be saved. He desires that they be part of the ‘all nations’ worshipping Him around His throne, and ultimately by their salvation Israel will to salvation in Yeshua. Pray that as events unfold, and terror continues to abound that many Arabs will come to know salvation through Jesus, and likewise many Jews. I have personally witnessed this and know that Jesus’ heart is full of love and joy when He sees esau and Jacob come together through Him.

Has God Forsaken America Or

Has God Forsaken America Or

Has America Forgotten God?

It doesn’t take a prophet to look around and see that the current ‘spiritual’ status of the United States is nearly bankrupt. The state of society in every corner has fallen to its worst level in it’s nearly 243 year history. The same could be said of the ‘spiritual’ climate in Europe. The United States has seen a rapid decline in church attendance, and an increase in drug addiction and drug-related crimes, pornagraphy, human trafficking, murder, idolatry, and ‘all manner of evil.’ The state of the schools is at an all time low as we see more and more government mandated teaching that clearly violates God’s Holy Word. The children, youth and young adults are seeking answers and they are getting them from the wrong sources.

We so often hear so many speaking about God’s judgment coming to America, while others speak of a great revival and harvest of souls for the kingdom of God. Who can really know what to make of it? How are we supposed to really know what God is up to? How did all of this happen and is there any real hope for America or any nation that has turned down the path of destruction?

In Deuteronomy chapter 28 God tells how He would bless the Israelites if they obeyed His commands, and at the same time what curses would come in them if they rebelled and did not obey His voice, and turned away from His statutes, precepts, and ordinances. In the book of Judges we see the pattern of the people rebelling and turning away from God, and then God allowing the nations around them to overtake them and conquer them, and the Israelites would remain subject to them until they would cried out, and God would hear their cry and send a deliverer, or Judge. The people would follow God and His teachings for awhile only to turn away again.

By the time the Prophet Jeremiah came on the scene Israel had taken a king, divided into two separate nations, Israel, or the Northern Kingdom, and Judah, or the Southern Kingdom. The Northern Kingdom had been overrun, defeated and saw many of its people assimilate into the Assyrian Empire. While Judah had mostly “good or Godly” kings, the few evil ones were really, really evil. They were the one who ‘killed the prophets’ as Jerusalem was part of that kingdom. Eventually they wouldn’t receive the prophets messages and were carried away to Babylon to be ruled by Babylon and later Persia. This is where the First Temple destruction occurred and then later the return to rebuild The Temple and Jerusalem after 70 years.

So, the question I originally asked about America requires an Answer. Has God gone so far that God has turned His back on her, or has America just thumbed its nose at God and He finally has had enough? I recently was awakened early one morning and was lead to Jeremiah 18:15, which reads,

“but My people have forsaken Me; they make offerings to false gods; they made them stumble in their ways, in the ancient roads, and to walk into side roads, not the highway”

American Has Stumbled Off Of The Path

I believe that America has gotten off of the path it started on, not for good but for evil. Some would see the path that America is on now as a ‘good path’. It is obvious that a generation rose up and trampled on The Ten Commandments, and prayer, not just in school, but in any ‘public’ arena, and have abandoned the Word of God. I have a picture of one of the first Continental Congresses and the attendants knelt in prayer. This is how our forefathers founded our country, on their knees, praying to God for direction. Through time, the nations from where immigrants came from brought their cultures and cuisines as well as their religions. We gladly welcomed them but instead of the church demonstrating the gospel to them and reaching out to the nations coming here we allowed their false religions to become mainstream, affecting so much of our culture at large. Often this has caused Christians to lose their first amendment rights but other faiths are given a higher place of respect. We are no longer given respect to practice and follow the teachings of Jesus.

I often hear people say, “America is no longer a Christian nation”! I think only God can answer that but I believe God has and always has had a remnant who will not forsake His word. Certainly there has been a shift as I mentioned at the beginning and the pendulum has swung far to the left, or far away from God. But is there hope?

Jeremiah 18:12 (NASB) But they will say, ‘It’s hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.” (ESV)

Like Israel of old it seems we live in a day where each one follows his or her own plans. Further, the problem is worse in the church. How can those outside of the church follow and live according to the “Word of God” if they don’t see it modeled by those who claim to be followers of Jesus and the one true and living God? How can we expect the world or society to know God if we don’t ‘know’ Him and His ways? We have to spend time in the word, pray and worship in order to ‘know’ Him and what He is saying and how we can be light in the areas where we walk.

The Potter And The Clay

Perhaps God will deal with America like the Potter dealt with the clay in Jeremiah 18!

Jeremiah 18:7 “At one moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to uproot, to pull it down, or destroy it; 8- if that nation turns from its evil I will relent concerning the calamity I planned to bring on it.”

God does not desire to destroy or wipe out any nation, but those that do not ‘turn or repent’ from evil will certainly eventually feel destruction at the hand of God. So, when we hear someone speaking of coming destruction to America or any other nation, we must remember there is always hope, if that nation repents and turns toward following God. We all know and can probably recite 2 Chronicles 7:14. It speaks of God’s people humbling themselves, and praying and seeking God’s face and turning from their wicked ways. Who is it that turns? God’s people. The nation is following after the devices of their hearts because the ‘people of God’ are not praying, seeking, turning, etc. It starts with God’s people. If we do those things, then He will hear and forgive and ‘heal the land’.

The land must be healed. Yes, the land can be broken, because the evil is spilled on the land and the land cries out for healing. This is why the Southern Kingdom was sent away to Babylon so that the land could ‘have a rest from all of the evil, and heal.” Also, so that God could reform and reshape His people and put a hunger in them to serve Him in their own land.

Jeremiah 18:9-10 “ or at another moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to build it up or to plant it; if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will think better of the good with which I had promised to bless it.” (NASB)

God Established America

It was God that truly established America as a beacon of religious freedom for those seeking such in England and all of Europe. The early settlers sought to reach the Native Americans but that had tragic disappointments. America has seen at least two Great Awakenings and many local and regional revivals. Missionaries were sent out to Africa, Asia, and other parts of the world from America, Great Britain, and other nations. Jesus’ church was strong, vibrant and was helping shape the United States at all levels of society.

Unfortunately, America and many other once strong Christian nations have ‘not obeyed God’s voice and have done “evil” in His sight.’ Nevertheless as God built up America and now she has turned away, causing leaders to speak of coming judgment, He can also ‘relent’ concerning the calamities. The storms we see in greater magnitude may or may not be associated with His judgment, but they should serve as a wake up call. Further, before God judges or turns America or any nation over to wrath He will most assuredly judge the church for not doing it’s part to cry out in repentance. 1 Peter 4:17 says that ‘judgment must begin in the house of God, and if it begins with us what will be the end of them that ‘obey not’ the gospel of God?’ God will judge the nations, but first we, the people of God are judged. God is telling the church in America to turn back.

What Is The Final Word

The answer is No! That God has not forgotten America, even though it looks as if America as gone down a different path than it started. He is not willing that anyone should perish, but have everlasting life, through His Son Jesus. The answer is Revival, Reform, Reconciliation, and Awakening .Prayer for America and the nations that have turned away is needed. Pray for the ‘church’ to wake up! Pray for a harvest of souls and then for those to disciple new followers of Jesus. Pray For awakening and harvest in every corner of society, and of course speak up. We all have a voice and we need to quit turning our face away as if it doesn’t matter.

Thank You Lord for mercy and grace.

Rashida Tlaib, Donald Trump And 1967

Rashida Tlaib, Donald Trump And 1967

With all of the news about Rashida Tlaib being the first Palestinian woman elected to Congress, and her hatred of Israel and her recent rants and cursing of President Donald Trump I felt led to delve into what is really behind the filthy name calling and anti- Israel stand of the American born representative of Michigan’s 13th Congressional district. Furthur I want to remind everyone of some facts, and what lies ahead. Finally, we have to remember to pray for Rashida and all of those opposed to God’s plans.

Unless you are under a rock or just do not care about the news at all you are probably aware of recent comments at the inauguration of Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib where she commented that she responded to her son’s comments “bullies never win”, with” yes and we are going to impeach the M** F***.” Nice language to use in front of your 13 and 7 year old sons. She has refused to apologize for the comments, demonstrating her ultimate hatred of Donald J. Trump and his government. On the night of the election she was draped in a Palestinian flag, not an American as one would think should be the case since she was elected to the Congress of the United States.

This all demonstrates that yes, she has an agenda, but it is not to represent her constituents, but to promote her and so many like hers, hatred of all things Israel. She is a big promoter of BDS which stands for Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions, of all things Israel. This movement has led to many Israeli families going bankrupt due to no sales in places like Europe where there is a strong Anti-Israel sentiment. Many families had been farming the same land for generations. Rep. Tlaib has vowed to vote against everything that comes up to help Israel, including weapons to defend themselves from all of those that want to annihilate them, especially in Gaza and West Bank.

Let me be clear all people in all of the nations around Israel are not against Israel. I know many wonderful Christians in some of these countries and I also know some Muslims who just want to ‘live’. But, Rep. Tlaib does represent many here in America and abroad when it comes to wiping Israel out. It’s Psalm 83 where the nations conspire to wipe Israel off of the earth. So, how did we get to this point, and what does President Donald Trump have to do with any of this? And what does the Bible say?

A quick history lesson would remind Rep. Tlaib that if Jordan had never attacked Israel, along with Egypt and Syria there would be no designation as West Bank, and her family would be calling themselves Jordanians. But, in June 1967 Egypt, Syria, and Jordan all attacked Israel. In just six days Israel miraculously defeated all three, and gained all of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount. The war lasted from June 5 until June 10, 1967. When the Jordanian army pulled out they left behind many Arabs who the King of Jordan had made full citizens after he annexed it on 24 April, 1950. Furthermore, these Arabs remained citizens of Jordan until 1988 when the government renounced it. That left the Arabs in the West Bank citizens of no country. If Rep. Tlaib should be mad at anyone it should be the Jordanian army for abandoning her people.

The Israeli army merely went in to occupy land that had been won in battle after defeating an enemy aggressor. Previously, the United Nations had agreed to a partition plan that gave a Jewish state and a Palestinian state with Jerusalem under UN administration. The British government made the famous Balfour Declaration in 1917 after it won the area known as Palestine from the Ottoman Empire. After Israel declared Independence in 1948 there was an Arab war and finally a peace agreement was reached. The participating nations agreed to a Green line or Armistice line. That line held and kept Jerusalem divided with the Temple Mount remaining in Arab controlled lands.

When Israel won that war in 1967 everything changed. But the world still recognized Tel Aviv as the capital until December 2018, when US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Since then several other nations, mostly Latin American have followed suit in moving their embassies to Jerusalem. I have previously written on how Australia got wrong in recognizing ‘west Jerusalem’ as the capital of Israel. You can find that article on my website, Writeitplain.com, with many verses explaining why undivided Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel, and one day when Jesus returns will be for the whole world.

It is not a perfect situation in Israel. The United Nations, and many nations believe Israel should pull back to the pre-1949 borders. In doing so it would be like playing marbles for fun, or in this case war games, but the winner doesn’t really get to keep all of the spoils. It’s not even so much keeping the spoils but it has become about protecting what you already have. Nevertheless, I am aware of the plight of many Arabs stuck west of the 1949 Green line without any citizenship. They can’t leave Jerusalem because if they do they can’t come back without proper paperwork which is hard to obtain. However, many Arabs are business people and politicians, educators, nurses, doctors, etc.

President Trump put America in alignment with God’s plan with announcing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Since then all hell has literally broken out. Politicians will not be able to settle all of the problems, ultimately setting the stage for the ‘man of lawlessness’ to come and bring a false peace. Eventually Jesus will return and set up his kingdom with Jerusalem as its capital. He will reign forever. In the meantime we need to pray for all of Israel to be saved. We need to pray for Arabs and Jews. God has promised a revival in all of the earth, including the ‘land of Israel’.

A member of Rep. Tlaib’s staff placed a note over Israel on a map with the word ‘Palestine” and said “now everything is right”. Satan has sought to destroy Jews and all Israelis for thousands of years. That is why we see this ant-Israel hatred and rise of anti-semitism across the globe. Israel has given self government to 10 cities in the West Bank including Jericho and Bethlehem. Jews are not allowed there.

So, the real problem with Trump is his stand on Israel. We must pray that America continues to stand with Israel. No other government is a true friend of Israel. The Bible promised to Bless those who Bless the seed of Abraham through the promised son, Isaac, and that is Israel. God also said He would curse those who curse that same seed. I’m all in for some blessing. Let’s continue to bless Israel, while praying for her enemies. Pray for an end to The BDS or boycotting and sanctions against Israel. Pray that those who hate Israel to gain a revelation of Jesus and His love for them. In the meantime you can also be a voice for Israel wherever you are. If you feel led write your Representative or Senators telling them to stand with Israel.

A Psalm 2 Answer To Christian Bale’s Acceptance Speech

A Psalm 2 Answer To Christian Bale’s Acceptance Speech

It’s not hard to find issues in the news to get followers of Jesus’s hair set on edge or worse get our ‘blood pressure up.’ This one shouldn’t come as a surprise since so many of Hollywood’s ‘elites’ are always making headlines with comments that are prone to be anti-God or anti-Christ. On Sunday night Christian Bale kept in line by actually going so far as to saying “Thank you Satan” as he accepted his award for best actor. He alluded to his portrayal of former Vice President Dick Cheney in the movie ‘Vice’. He said “Satan had inspired him” in playing the role of the former VP.

I do not watch any of the awards that Hollywood or similar groups put on but all one has to do is wait a few minutes or hours after the conclusion and all of the headlines will appear. I ran across this one on a friends facebook feed. It should not and really doesn’t come as a surprise to me what comes out of the mouths of most of these actors. This continues to demonstrate the morals and beliefs of so many that influence so much of American society, as well as much of the world. I have enjoyed several of Bale’s performances in movies like The Dark Knight, Public Enemies, 3:10 to Yuma, The Prestige, and Batman Begins.

Bale has performed in over 50 productions as well as producing Harsh Times. With so many great performances, awards, and accolades it is no wonder someone of his talent is well like and loved and respected in the industry. He has many fans and admirers as well. Nevertheless what he said certainly is representative of many in Hollywood. Not all of Hollywood actors and actresses subscribe to the same religion or false ‘god’ but they all fall into the same boat as God haters, and of Christ and His disciples as well.

So, what do I mean by a Psalm 2 answer? Wouldn’t it be just as well to say something like ‘Oh how terrible, he honored the devil, not Jesus” or anything of the sort. Psalm 2 is an awesome chapter that gives a lot of understanding to what has always but even more so now is going on in our world. I was first brought to this understanding in 2014 through the teaching of Mike Bickle who has recently written and published a Book which alludes to this subject. But let me expand. First, what does Psalm 2 have to say?

1- Why are the nations in an uproar And the peoples devising a vain thing?

2- The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers take counsel together

Against the Lord and against His Anointed saying,

3- “Let us tear their fetters apart And cast their cords from us!”

4- He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them.

5- Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury, saying

6- “But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion My holy Mountain.”

7-”I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: he said to Me, “You are My Son, Today I

Begotten You.”

8- ‘Ask of Me and I will surely give the nations as Your Inheritance, and the very

ends of the earth as Your possession.’

9- ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.”

10- Now therefore O kings, show discernment; Take warning O judges of the earth.

11- Worship the Lord with reverence And rejoice with trembling.

12- Do homage to the Son, that He may not become angry, and you perish in the w

Way, For His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in

Him! (NASB, 1995 Lockman Foundation)

The Psalm begins by asking a question or rather 2 questions. Why are the nations in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? Then it mentions the kings of the earth taking their stand. The nations are not necessarily nations as we think of confined to man made modern boundaries. They are people groups, tribes, ethnicities, and nations like we have here in America, the Cherokee, Navajo, and other “First Nations” tribes. Likewise the kings of the earth are not necessarily the rulers of the above mentioned tribes, or nations. Certainly Presidents, Kings, Queens, Primes Ministers, and Emperors are rulers.

At the same time there are other areas of authority where there are rulers. In The days of King David when Psalm 2 was written there were merchants and traders, and those that controlled vast sums of gold, silver, ivory, and food as well. There are of course the priests in Israel and then the priests and prophets of the nations around Israel, who served false demonic gods yet were revered with high esteem in their culture. In ancient Greece and other societies Stoics, and Philosophers were held in high regard. So you see rulership is not just confined to the ones sitting on the governmental throne.

In our modern age there are many voices contending to rule in our various societies and cultures, They are really wanting to take up their throne in mine and your lives. Hollywood has for many years leaned politically to the far left, always opposing any semblance of Judeo-Christian morality. Not to mention the many adherents to ‘Scientology.’ Then there is the many Sports figures who are looked up to and revered by so many, especially our youth. AS far as the merchants that would be represented by ‘Corporate America”.

As a ‘ruler’ or group who is looked up to Hollywood certainly has a lot of sway with many in America, especially in the political arena. Some say why don’t they stick to acting and keep their nose out of the government. That could be said of a lot of people, even sports figures. However, it’s not even their comments but the lifestyles they live that we, as Christians, should examine.

In Psalm 2, verse 2 David states that these rulers ‘take counsel together against the Lord and against His anointed.’ I’ve written it before and will continue to write and say that all of these that speak or desire a life contrary to Biblical standards are really opposing God and Jesus. When people accept an award for fine acting and make millions of dollars and live an opulent lifestyle and then give thanks to ‘Satan’, and further saying he inspired him, it is really as if they are speaking Psalm 2 verse 3, “ Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us.’

Look at the picture above and it is as if Christian Bale, which is ironic his name is Christian, is waving his trophy at God and at Jesus as if to say, “I don’t need you, I only need Satan, you see I am waving my award and all I have in your face.” Hollywood has been thumbing their nose at God and Jesus and Christians who won’t bow to what they say and even worse keep going to the box office and supporting them financially so they can go and pour money into other rulers like the drug trade or human trafficking, or other fleshly fulfillments.

The Psalmist says that God is sitting on His throne laughing at these so-called rulers. Pause and think about that, God laughs at Hollywood. But the final admonishment is in found in verse 10. ‘Show discernment and take warning. He calls them judges of the earth. Judges are supposed to bring justice and that means righting a wrong. Obviously the wrong that needs to be righted is the wrong of giving ‘Satan’ praise for anything but especially for inspiring an award winning performance.

Verse 12 tells the ‘rulers’ to Do homage or as some translations might read, ‘Kiss’ the Son. In other words bow to the Son. Who is the Son? None other than Jesus Christ, who is Lord of Lords, and KIng of Kings. ( Rev. 19:16)Hey what did I just say? King of Kings! Wow that means Hollywood rulers Jesus is your king!! If the ‘rulers’ do not worship Jesus (the Son), He will become angry and they will perish. In other words, some day Jesus will bring justice and judge those who do not acknowledge Him as King of Kings. Matthew 25:31-46 deals with Jesus as the Judge, and how He will separate the ‘sheep’ or His true disciples from the goats, or those who have chosen not to follow Him and obey His commands.

The end of it all is this: Hollywood and all of those who act and think like Christian Bale will be judged one day. They can flaunt their trophies and thumb their nose at God and He is laughing but sadly judgment will come. WE need to pray for Christian Bale and all of the Hollywood actors. There are some believers involved in the Entertainment industry who do wonderful work, and represent the kingdom of god well.

We need to pray for them as they stand on the front lines. Pray God will raise up more righteous actors who are not afraid to speak and act on behalf of the kingdom of God. But whatever you do pray, we are living in dark, perilous times, but wonderful and exciting as well. Only if you follow and obey Jesus, and His commands will it be exciting, for then you understand that there is a harvest coming. I have heard of a ‘move of God’ among some in Hollywood.

My home state has become the new Hollywood and we are praying for all of those that are involved to be touched by the power of God and there be a revival among the Entertainment Industry here. Join me and others in praying for lost souls to be saved in Hollywood, Bollywood And the Entertainment industry all around the world.

2019 Promises, Blessings, Decrees & The Will of God

2019 Promises, Blessings, Decrees & The Will of God

We all have needs and situations that went unmet in 2018. There are many reasons why we may not have seen everything we felt God was going to do, or goals we set not achieved. There are many speaking promises, and prophetic words today, or will be in the days and weeks ahead of what they believe God may be speaking over our nation or a particular situation. Sermons will be preached, resolutions made, goals set, decrees made, and blessings given, all with the intent of speaking ‘comfort and hope’ for the coming year.

I am all in when it comes to edifying and comforting people, so long as we speak it from the hope of the cross.I love prophecy and all of the gifts of the ‘Spirit’. We need to hear what God is saying through leaders and those gifted in the body to speak forth what He is saying. But, we also need to weigh every word against the Word of God, and as Paul says ‘test the spirits.” We need wisdom and discernment.

All of that said we know that God speaks in many and varied ways, including circumstances and even non-believers. Whatever we need for God to do or we what to see Him do we must first ask what His will is and what is He saying about a particular situation. All of this obviously comes from a relationship built on time in the Word, worship and prayer.

Speaking a blessing over someone or asking God to bless is a good thing. He certainly does not want us to go around speaking curses over ourselves, families, friends, nation, etc. Speaking blessing, and being thankful and praising Him in all things, 1 Thes. 5:18. Praying the Word of God is also important and you can’t go wrong as it is His Word. Unless of course you misapply it. Praying the Apostolic prayers and the blessings found in the Psalms and throughout the Bible are good.

Then there are decrees and declarations. As priests we are mediators making intercession, and as kings we make declarations, but they must be made on His Word or through what God shows us and tells us. Again, that comes from a place of intimacy. Job 22:28 say, “you will decree a thing and it will be established for you.” (Nasb) The previous verse talk about Job delighting in the Lord, and these things will happen.

You see there is always the part we play. God gives us a promise or prophetic word but it doesn’t happen like magic. We have to pray and guard and keep the enemy from stopping it from coming forth. We have to let our hearts line up, and remain pure, and be thankful, and not grumble, complain or be accusative. God will do what He said, but not when we want it or how we expect it.

James 4:13 says, “Come now you who say ‘tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.’ 14 Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are like a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills we will live, and do this or that’ 16 But as it is you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil.”

Now don’t misunderstand what James is writing about. He is talking about us making our plans without God’s input, direction, leading etc. Even when we get a “Word from the Lord’ and we pray and everything checks out it does not mean it will just happen immediately and certainly then enemy will try to stop it. By the same token, we need to plan every day according to what God would have us do. There are some things we don’t need to ask or plan too much. Getting up every day and going to our jobs or doing the work we have for that day is something we must do. Often He interrupts us and changes things.

When God called me to serve Him I wasn’t ready nor prepared for all that it required. Further, I have always heard Him speak for me and my wife to do something or He was going to do this or that but we had to always do our part, and even in that we had to be led by the Spirit. When He told us to move to Pensacola and for me to go to school at Brownsville we had to make some adjustments. We had to ask Him when and how.

I pray and ask Him for His guidance about everything. I used to ask for direction and then go and do what I wanted to do and say the Lord said for me to when I was just asking Him to bless what I was doing when I was clearly out of His will. Now, He has through the years afforded much mercy and grace and I am thankful. He also disciplined us when needed. It is better to seek His will and not make my plans and then ask for mercy and forgiveness.

Let 2019 be the year we all say ‘I will seek the Lord with all of my heart, and obey His commands.’ Let this be the year that we ask Him in everything ‘what is His will’? Let our boasting be that God has ordered our steps.(Psalms 37:23).

Remember prophecies and prophetic words are meant to encourage, exhort, comfort, and confirm. They should never be used as a guide or for direction except to confirm what God is already speaking.

He has promised us all certain things, mainly salvation, deliverance healing, and His return. Again we had to do some things, but the rest we wait on Him. So let us also, wait for Him to do what He promised, loving Him more each day.

Just like He left the rainbow as a token of His promise He is faithful to do what He said.

Looking Back and Looking Ahead

Looking Back and Looking Ahead

How To Know What God Is Really Saying!

It’s that time of year when everybody likes to forecast what lies ahead for the up and coming year. Likewise we all like to reflect and ponder what went right and what went wrong. Where did we as individuals get off the path God has for us, or did we do alright? If you are one to make New Year’s resolutions, then by now you probably have taken an inventory of how well you did.

But is all of that really important? Remember it is only what God says that really matters. If you are disappointed with your results then ask God what He thinks. Repent and ask for grace to move on. Still, why do we need to make resolutions. I believe it is important to have goals both short-term and long-term. We must make sure they are of course bathed in prayer and based in the Word of God.

In the ancient days the Children of Israel knew when it was time to reflect, repent, and look for the New. That took place around three seasons called ‘feast days’. The spring feasts, focused primarily on Passover, then 50 days later there was Pentecost, then the ‘fall feasts’ beginning with Trumpets, Atonement, and finally Tabernacles. There were other times like New Moon Feasts, and Jubilees that had special significance, and special meanings.

So, we have precedent to take a season to stop and look back and ask God to examine us over the past season. Yes, it is a daily thing but sometimes we need to see the bigger picture. In the Book of Acts we typically don’t read of New Year’s resolution, but see Peter talking about repentance and experiencing seasons of refreshing. The early Church began with just Jews and until later centuries they always celebrated the feasts. The feast were and are a good time to also sow special seed.

That seed sowing can be giving an offering to your church or a missionary or orphanage, or special need. We can sow our time and from our talents or skills. It helps us to break the cycles we have fallen into over the year. We can see others less fortunate or in need and we have not only opportunity to help but we are ‘storing up treasure in heaven.’

I began by talking about looking ahead. How do we know what God is really saying when we have 20 prophetic words over our nation or church or government. Or the prognosticators of the world start speaking. Who do we believe? We need to always submit everything to the Spirit of the Lord and His Word. Pray, and ask the Lord first what are His plans for your individual life for the upcoming year. Seek Him in prayer the Word, worship, and then pray with others. Every Word is not for each of us.

If the Lord moves on you to make changes be obedient, but make sure if you are married you are both in agreement. Pastors and leaders need to fast and seek the Lord for their Churches. Business and government leaders should seek heaven. The world is not where we get our guidance. Psychics, astrologers, wiccans, or anything from the world is not for believers of Jesus Christ to seek out or even give an ear to. Pray about everyone in authority over you and what they are telling you and make sure that it lines up with God’s word and that your spirit bears witness.

By staying in God’s Word and seeking Him in prayer you will be on the right path, and it will keep you there if you are obedient and if you stray and are quick to repent He will forgive and be merciful and bring you back to the place you need to be. Embrace the new seasons ahead with joy and delight and be thankful that it is also a time to just ‘wipe the slate clean’ in some instances.

It is my prayer that each one will seek God first before making any decision and obey. Perhaps this may be your biggest year where all of your dreams and everything you have been waiting for God to do will be accomplished. But, if not, grab onto the horns of the altar and don’t let go. Enjoy Him every day and do not give the devil any place.

Ein Karem, Bethlehem, & The Nativity Of Jesus The Christ

Ein Karem, Bethlehem, & The Nativity Of Jesus The Christ

Before Bethlehem became the center of worship to God and Jesus on that first Christmas there was another sleepy town, that six months earlier had brought quite a stir. I am speaking of the town of Ein Karem, Israel, where John The Baptist was born six months before Jesus, according to Luke 1:5-80.

Mary or Miriam in Hebrew, had recently been visited by an angel telling of her soon conception by the Holy Spirit. Further Mary was told that her older cousin Elizabeth was now pregnant and in her sixth month. You know the story that Mary left Nazareth to go to visit her cousin Elizabeth. Luke only says that Mary went to a hill country in the hill country of Judea. That town was En Karem which is currently a 10 minute train/bus ride on the edge of Jerusalem.

Elizabeth didn’t understand why ‘the mother of my Lord’ should come to her. Why should she go there? When Elizabeth received news of Mary’s news the baby, the future forerunner of Jesus, lept in her womb. Perhaps Mary was just going to see her cousin who had miraculously conceived in her old age. Perhaps it was more than that. I think we can find just a glimpse in Luke 1:76 where Zechariah declares of John “you will be a prophet of the Most High and you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for Him.”

Zechariah was declaring that John is the forerunner who will, at least partially, fulfill the scripture speaking of a forerunner of Jesus coming. Isaiah 40:3 speaks of “a voice crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord.” On that day in Ein Karem it was more than two cousins talking about their pregnancies. No they were not posting on facebook, or talking about sonograms, and they certainly weren’t having a gender reveal party, not that those are not important to us as parents and grandparents. They were declaring the scripture being fulfilled through them. They realized their importance.

The prophet Zechariah declared a few hundred years earlier “do not despise these small beginnings.” Zechariah 4:10. God didn’t pick someone in a high ranking position. Not a wealthy landowner, or prominent family. Mary was a descendant of David, but her family lived up in Nazareth and so far as we can tell was of no great social status. Likewise John’s mother Elizabeth was of the daughters of Aaron meaning she was of the family of the High priest. Her husband Zechariah was a priest but nothing extraordinary is found mentioned about him. Then there is the hard working ‘earthly father’ of Jesus.

It was from humble beginnings that our Nativity story begins, but it begins in Ein Karem, before Bethlehem. Likewise as we draw near the end of the current age and anticipate Jesus return in Jerusalem, God is preparing more John the Baptist’s who like the first one arise from humble beginnings. WE are thankful for so many voices that have gone before. Many were well trained, or spoke eloquently. But in these last days God is raising up voices to be forerunners to go ahead and prepare the way for our Lord’s return.

You may not think of yourself as a forerunner, but if you are a disciple of Jesus Christ you have a voice. You may be a mom, or business owner or teacher. Some may be writers, or dancers, or artists. Further there are educators, and media experts. All have a voice. This is the day where God is looking for the faithful who are content to be just a ‘nobody’ who is somebody in the kingdom of God.

Remember just as there was Ein Karem there are many such quaint little places where forerunners are being prepared. Rejoice and be glad. Be as John said in John 3:29 ‘stand hear and rejoice.’ Rejoice that He came as a baby in Bethlehem, yes, but rejoice that He is coming back to Jerusalem and He is counting on readers like you to help clear the way.

What Australia Got Wrong In It’s Recognition Of ‘West Jerusalem’ As The Capital Of Israel

What Australia Got Wrong In It’s Recognition Of ‘West Jerusalem’ As The Capital Of Israel

On Saturday December 15, 2018 Australia recognized ‘West Jerusalem’

As the capital of Jerusalem. There is no intention of moving there embassy to Jerusalem. The Israeli government is crying foul, saying there is no such place as ‘West Jerusalem.’ Further Australia has opened a pandora’s box by making such a recognition, because now Palestinians are calling for a recognition of “East Jerusalem” as their capital.

We should be glad that another nation has recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. But what is wrong with their statement? Was Israel’s cabinet right in saying there is no such place as “West Jerusalem”? It all sounds good that an affluent nation like Australia would seem to be lining up with what US President Donald Trump and several other leaders from various nations have done. Most recently Brazil fell in alignment by doing so. What is wrong with Australia’s declaration is that does not line up with the Bible, and what God has declared.

2 Chronicles 6:6 says, “ But I have chosen Jerusalem that My name might be there, and I have chosen David to be over My people.” In that statement God declares Jerusalem is the city where His name might be there. It points to the city where in the future He will set up His throne. When He says ‘I have chosen David’ to be over my people’ He is talking about the actual King David, but He was also pointing to the future when Jesus, a descendant of King David, would sit on the throne there forever.

Secondly. God says in Isaiah 62: 7 that he has “set watchman on your walls”, until Jerusalem shall be ‘a praise in all of the earth.’ Jerusalem is not currently a praise in all of the earth for different reasons. It will not fully be a praise in all of the earth until Messiah Jesus sets up His throne, but we are to watch and pray. What are we commanded to pray. Psalm 122:6 declares us to ‘pray for the peace of Jerusalem, May they prosper wh0 love you.’ WE are to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, not West Jerusalem or East Jerusalem. Why because God commanded us to and so that we may prosper. We who love Jerusalem must pray for it’s peace.

Any time the Word of God mentions Zion it is speaking of Jerusalem. Mt. Zion is a literal mount where the Temple Mount is located, and currently contains the dome of the rock. There are a plethora of scriptures speaking of going up to Zion and blessings coming from Zion, etc. Until 1967 Jerusalem and thus Zion was in the hands of Arabs under the flag of Jordan. After Israel won that war and took territory that land became part of Israel. The United Nations has refused to recognize Israel’s victor and has tried to force them to go back to borders they had before they were attacked on three sides. This was the beginning of the Camp David peace accords and the so-called ‘Oslo’ accords.

The world is attempting to bring peace by worldly ways and without a Biblical worldview. Isaiah 60 verses 1 and 2 speak of the glory of Zion and its light is coming to the nations. Jesus promised to return to Jerusalem, and further said in Matthew 23:37-39, “you will not see me until you say,’blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’” You see Jesus is coming back, but he is waiting on Jerusalem, not East or West, to declare and say ‘blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’

When Donald Trump announced and declared that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel he aligned not only the United States, but the world with the word of God. By refusing to declare all of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Australia or rather the government in Canberra has in effect said no we do not wish to line up. They have chosen to compromise God’s Word and opened the door for possible recognition of East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

Joel 3:2 declares, “I will gather all of the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my lands.” Psalm 83 says ‘with one mind they plot against you,’ The nations conspire to divide Israel and even Jerusalem. But God and moreover Jesus will have the final word and will deal harshly with those nations.

The word of God is clear that Jerusalem is the city He has chosen for His name to be declared and worshipped. WE anticipate the day when Jesus sets up His kingdom and throne there and all of the nations worship there. As new Covenant Disciples of Jesus we desire now, in this hour to see the nations, i.e. Jews, Arabs, Americans, Russians, Chineses, Australians, Brazilians, Koreans and all nations to come there. That is part of the message of the one New Man Paul wrote about in Ephesians 2: 14-16. We are grafted into ‘One New Man” as Jew and gentile or nations.

When we pray for the peace of Jerusalem we must pray for all of Jerusalem, and for Jew, Arab and all peoples to come into the Kingdom of God and become disciples of Jesus, Yeshua, or Isa, as He is known by different people groups. I am and pray you will be excited to be alive in this time where God’s Word is being fulfilled and accomplished. His purposes are being performed in Jerusalem and all of the earth. I pray that Australia’s government would get it right and ‘declare all of Jerusalem’ to be Israel’s capital and not wait on the fence to see what will happen .

The Spirit Of Sanballat, Globalism and Trump

The Spirit Of Sanballat, Globalism and Trump

From the above photo it is evident that a wall exists to either attempt to solve a problem or at least diminish it, or just to prevent future problems. Whatever the case land boundaries exist and must be respected. In the above case that is the wall in Israel separating Israel from the “West Bank” known in some circles as Palestine. That wall was built to prevent terroristic attacks on the citizens of Israel, especially in and around Jerusalem. In other words it exists to protect the citizens of Jerusalem and all Israel from violence and illegal entry.

The question of ‘protecting our borders’ in the United States, and further even the question of globalization and nations without borders is currently a hot topic in all circles of conversation. Nations without borders or boundaries is unimaginable, and still further there is a Biblical reason as to why they exist. In Deuteronomy 32:8 we read, “ When the Most High gave inheritance to the nations, in separating the sons of Man, He established boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.” National boundaries have existed since there have been nations, and still there have also been wars over those boundaries.

It is not perfect because man is in control, people often want what is on the other side. In the case of Nehemiah he was distressed because the city of Jerusalem lay in ruins and the Temple as well. When Nehemiah was finally given the authority to go to Jerusalem and rebuild the wall he was opposed by leaders like Sanballat and Tobiah. The reason the wall needed rebuilding was that the invaders from Babylon had overtaken the city and broken the walls down. But why was there a wall there in the first place?

We have to go way back to before king David when the city we call Jerusalem was known as Jebus, and was the Jebusite stronghold. We see in 1 Chronicles 11:4-9 and 2 Samuel 5:6-10 the story of how David was taunted by the Jebusites and told him “you will not come in here.” But David was able to capture the city by sending men through the underground cistern, the same wells that became Hezekiah’s tunnels several hundred years later. You see the children of Jebus built a wall to protect themselves to avoid “unlawful entry”and provide a safe haven for its citizens.

Walls have been built for centuries for the same reason. While the wall that Nehemiah rebuilt may have been covered by earth over time there still exists walls from ancient times of what we now call ‘the Old City of Jerusalem.” While there are some walls that need to come down especially invisible walls where people need to receive the gospel we need to see some walls as necessary.

Our country has been faced with a massive crisis on our southern borders. While the United States was founded by immigrants and has always accepted and receive immigrants for various reasons, at the same time there has always, with few exceptions, been a set criteria for entering the United States legally. In our modern world there are many voices crying for ‘open borders.’ While some are noble, i.e. tourism, education, trade, there are still others that are rotten and just purely evil.

The same spirit that opposed Nehemiah in rebuilding the wall in ca, 526 BCE exist to try to tant our President and prevent him doing what he and others feel is the right thing to do to prevent future terrorism and get a handle on the drug problem coming up from Central America. If any citizen of The United States were to do what is being done now by the so called ‘caravan’ to Mexico or any other Central American country we would be met not only with opposition but without a valid reason for being there most likely turned away. Again it is called respecting each others boundaries.

We see also in Acts 17:26 where Paul gives a rendition of the Deuteronomy 32:8 verse when he says, “ He made from one man, every nation of mankind to live on the face of all the earth, having determined their appointed times, and the boundaries of their habitation.” Again God has determined the appointed times for nations and their boundaries. We see open borders throughout Europe, and we see many problems arising. The move for globalization is on and will continue until Messiah Jesus comes and establishes His Millennial Kingdom.

Until Jesus does return we have a choice, to either love and respect the nation we are in and its boundaries, and further those of our neighbors, or give in to the rise of “One World Government”, which is the agenda of the future Antichrist. The issue is not a matter of ‘feeding and clothing’ the foreigner. If people desire to come to the United States or any any country other than their country of Nativity then let them apply and go through proper channels. Whenever I travel to another country I always have to go through their process in order to be accepted for whatever time period I am planning to be their.

Building a wall, fence or any boundary protecting system is costly in time, money and resources. Yet, the cost of not building may ultimately be the highest cost of all. We never know what intent one ultimately has or their full motive, and we may never keep 100% of all troublemakers out, but we can certainly bring tit to near zero. Since Israel built the border fence shown above it has cut illegal immigration by 99%.

There is no perfect solution and as mentioned until Jesus returns we are left to work out our border issues as best as we can. Perfect peace can only be found in Jesus Christ. Nations have many reasons for wanting to expand borders. E must learn to share resources and try as best as we can to get along until Jesus separates the ‘sheep’ nations from the ‘goat’ nations.

I say without further delay as written in Nehemiah 2:18, “Let Us Arise and Build.” Pray for our leaders as this critical issue comes to a head in the next few days. Pray for Godly wisdom and Godly Justice to prevail.

The Future Glory Of Christmas

The Future Glory Of Christmas

Luke 2:9 reads, “And an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the lord shone around them and they were terribly frightened.” This is was the scene at the birth of Jesus back over 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem. A lot has transpired since then. Glory is a word that is thrown around today alot but not often understood. What was it that ‘shone round about them’ that first night of Jesus’ Nativity? What am I referring to in taking about the future glory of Christmas?

In the New Testament the word that came to be translated as ‘glory’ was doxa. Doxa meant honour, praise, dignity, or worship. So what was shining that day? There were angels present announcing the birth or nativity of Jesus. They were announcing in effect the ‘Coming of The Lord” or the coming of the Messiah”. But what was shining? The angels? The angels are never the actual ‘glory of the Lord’. But rather represent it, as that is where they live or from where they come.

No on that night of Jesus’ Nativity the honor and majesty that was shining was none other than the same as the Old Testament ‘kabod’ or glory, also known as the weight and splendor and majesty. Number one God was now manifest in human form. Not only that He was to remain in that form and walk among men and teach them until as such time as He would suffer, die, be buried and rise again, and ultimately return to heaven to sit at the right side of the Father.

The Father came down in His splendor and thus the attendees were terrified with Godly fear. Further the angel told them not to ‘fear’ because Good News is Here in the form of Jesus the Messiah. So in essence they were announcing yes, you need a healthy fear of the Lord but there is Great News in that the one to bring justice and set all things right is here. We need to keep that perspective as we celebrate the nativity of Jesus Christ. We need to enjoy family, friends, and gatherings but we need to remember the ultimate purpose.

We need to see the ‘glory’ of that First Christmas put back into the Christmas celebration of 2018 and going forward. But. I also want us to remember that the one who came us a baby is also coming back, but as a King, and a Judge and a bridegroom. We need to have that same healthy fear of the Lord as the ones present at the Nativity, and walk in awe and Godly fear, but also long for the Redeemer of Lover of Our Souls to return. He is coming back. Revelation 19:11 ‘And I saw heaven opened; and behold a white horse, and He sat on it is called Faithful, and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.’

The rest of the chapter gives an awesome description of Jesus. Verse 12 says “and His eyes are a flame of fire, and upon His head are many diadems, and He has a name written upon which no one knows except Himself. V.13 ‘and He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called the Word of God.”

We have this description of Jesus given as He comes back to gather the saints and His bride as He prepares for The Marriage of the Lamb.He came and became one of us from infant to full grown man and ascended on high and sent the Holy Spirit to be our ‘Comforter’ and ‘teacher.’ There is a future day when the one who’s coming we celebrate will come in triumph and victory. WE need to look past the Nativity and Christmas Tree and all the trappings to see The ‘glory of the Lord’ will fill the earth and Jesus will return in all power and glory to establish His rule and power in all of the earth.

Let’s celebrate Christ’s birth and His glorious return!!!!!!!

Old-Man FootBall And The Gospel Of The Kingdom

Old-Man FootBall And The Gospel Of The Kingdom

In September of 2012 The University Of Missouri a.k.a Mizzou, played their first football game as a member of The SEC or Southeastern Conference. Prior to the game one of the Mizzou football players made the comment that he thought Georgia played ‘Old Man Football’. That comment was meant to say that the way Georgia played was ‘old school’ and out-dated. On other words we (Mizzou) is coming to show you how to play young man football. It was a bold statement that in the end after Georgia won 41-20, proved that there are some things you don’t change, and be careful what you say.

We have to be able to back up our words, especially when we are using scripture to defend our stance on an issue. I use football as an example because so many here in America follow it. It is really an American Passion. Coaches and players are always looking for new and more effective ways to score points, defend the run, or defend the pass or just win more football games. At the end of the day there is only so much any team can do. When someone makes a statement like ‘old man football’ it can actually infuriate the opponent.

We are likewise looking to make sure we get the gospel message out more effectively and reach as many people as possible. We pray and seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Many people now a days strategize, and study statistics, and do all sorts of creative things with little or no results. Often when there are great results and lives are changed then there is poor discipleship, or now grounding and rooting in the true word.

We hear someone say ‘Old-fashioned preaching’ or ‘old-fashioned gospel’ and we think that sounds outdated. While I agree we sometimes have to gain fresh approaches, we cannot change the fundamental message of the gospel. We first need anointed, Holy Spirit-filled and led preaching, We don’t see altar calls or people crying out because of their sinful nature and God to have mercy. God so wants to love on His people more than they realize. While it is good for fresh ideas, and trying different methods, but make sure it is Holy Spirit inspired and led.

Folks, that is not old man nor old school, that is just plain Biblical truth. If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it. The problem really is we try to do something new to appeal to a younger audience because we see that we are losing people. It’s not about numbers, it’s about one life at a time. Part of my heritage is Baptist and part is Pentecostal Holiness. In both of those arenas I grew up remembering how the gospel was presented, It often turned me away because while I understood my sinful ways I wasn’t given a clear picture of the gospel because what was presented was an angry God. Not a loving Father in Heaven who desired a relationship, wanted me to be completely free and healed, and walking in my destiny. For the most part most Sunday sermons were evangelical in nature. While not a bad thing there really was no impartation of how much of the love and delight God has for His people.

Clearly we must preach the full truth of the gospel with a balance that God delights in us. There has to be a balance between repentance and that whole state of sorrowfulness, and the joy at knowing God delights in us. So really the ‘old-time’ religion is not what we experienced in the 60’s and 70’s or other decades for many, but the gospel presented in the Gospels and in The Acts narratives. Jesus came to represent the Father, and The Judge, and He came as a bridegroom seeking a bride.

That presentation of the Gospel of The Kingdom was brought forth in the Apostles in the early chapters of Acts. Peter talked about repenting to experience seasons of refreshing, (Acts 3:19). Even the prophets of the Old Testament understood the purpose of the law and their job was to point the people to God’s heart. But, they always sought an idol here or there, Paul’s writings demonstrate to the various churches how much the Father loved them and why He sent Jesus, so that they could live victorious. Paul never compromised the gospel.

While it’s good and often necessary to change the way we are doing things it must be led by the Holy Spirit and birthed out of prayer. Prayer is that relational aspect. Intimacy with the Father. Son and Holy Spirit will bring forth the plans we need to ‘make disciples, and take new territory.’ Old fashioned preaching that presented the true ‘heart of the Father’, is what worked then. The intimacy and prayer life and time in the word equates with the practice and exercise and diet of the football team.

The final aspect is that it is a team effort, not an individual. We are now moving back into the team ministry platform as was the way the early church practiced ‘old man religion’. The day of the one man show or the platform superstar is waning and thus the team ministry including Biblically ordained and mandated from Heaven five-fold minsters.

So, before we discount things of the past entirely let us be sure we are only throwing out those aspects that did not line up with our Biblical model, and make sure we have sought heaven’s heart on the matter. Let us be led by the Spirit and ask God for wisdom according to James 1:5, “ if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given Him. 6- But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” Father I pray you give us each one wisdom in how to present the full gospel with the Your Heart, in Jesus’ name.

Light To The Nations: A Christian Perspective On Hanukkah

A Light To The Nations: A Christian Perspective On Hanukkah

It’s that time of the year again, but I am not talking about Christmas here. No, I am referring to another annual event that while not observed by Christians and most of the world for that matter, still is mentioned once in the New Testament and has many things woven into it that Christians can identify with. I am talking about Hanukkah or Chanukah as some may write it. You may ask why would a Christian be concerned with Hanukkah? Or a better question might be to ask is how can we apply it to being disciples of Jesus.

The miracle of Hanukkah occurred during the Maccabean revolt from 167 to 160 BCE in Israel when the Maccabeans, led by Judas Maccabees, led a revolt against the Seleucid Greeks who were in power. The Maccabean revolt was against forced idolatry brought on by the ruling Seleucids. At one point there was only enough oil in the temple to last roughly one day. It was nearly impossible to get oil to the temple due to the Seleucid armies, and further everyone was supposed to be worshipping false idols. There was in essence a civil war going on between Orthodox Jews and Hellenized or Greek Jews. Antiochus has been despised and called the ‘wicked’ by most Jews.

But, the miracle of Hanukkah occurred when the oil that should have only lasted one day, lasted 8 days, and thus the menorah in the Temple Holy place stayed lit. That was the miracle that is celebrated during the ‘eight’ days of Hanukkah. The light of the menorah remained lit. You may ask ‘what is so special about the menorah remaining lit?’ Simply it is to remain lit so that the Holy Place in the Temple will be lit. It is the only source of light and represents to New Testament believers the “Word of God”. The Jewish sages taught that Jerusalem was the ‘light of the world.’

Psalm 119:105 tells us ‘Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.’ God’s Word is the light in each believer’s life and the church as a whole. Further Jesus said in John 8:12 ‘I am the light of the World, whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’ Jesus not only came to bring light to a dark world but that in each one that believes and follows Him that light will shine. God’s Word is precious and applicable in every situation and sheds light onto each and every problem faced by the world today.

Hanukkah is also known as the ‘feast of dedication.’ It is not one of the 7 feasts mandated in Leviticus, thus, not part of the three times each male was required to go to Jerusalem. Devout Jews and many less devout still observe the 7 feasts. But, it seems everyone is celebrating Hanukkah. Perhaps Jesus celebrated it. In John 10:22 we see that Jesus was in the Temple at the feast of dedication which is also Hanukkah. We don’t know how Jesus observed it but the fact that John mentions it was pretty important. However, more important is we see that Jesus who is the light of the world, is at the Temple at the time when everyone was celebrating the Hanukkah miracle of the Menorah light. There was a greater light there that day and they didn’t even know it.

Still, greater than all of this is the fact that this Menorah light miracle points to something in Israel’s call as a nation. Consider Isaiah 49:6 where God says He will make Israel ‘a light to the nations, so that all of the world may be saved.’ Obviously, that was fulfilled through Jesus. Jesus came as a Jew to His own people, first. He sent them out, at least the ones that received Him. He sent them out to be a ‘light to the nations.’ However, I, along with many others, believe that the nation of Israel will fulfill that promise in the end times. Paul said in Romans 11:26 ‘all Israel will be saved.’ I don’t believe anyone of us can fully grasp what that means and when that will take place.

When the time comes for  Israel to say from Jerusalem ‘blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord’ and Jesus returns and gathers the sheep and the wheat and establishes His kingdom, somewhere in the midst of all of that,  ‘all Israel will be saved.’ The whole world already has all eyes on Israel, but she is not yet a ‘light.’ That is still to come. We must continue to be watchmen for Israel and pray without ceasing. Pray that the whole nation, Jew and Arab will see the ‘light’ of Jesus as their Messiah. One aspect of causing Israel to turn to the Lord is what Paul described in Romans 11:11 where the Gentiles provoke the Jews to jealousy.

The Gentile church has done a poor job at best, of provoking the Jews to jealousy. The church has through the centuries persecuted, murdered, stolen from, and basically everything except to cause the Jewish people to want to turn to Jesus. But, I believe that is changing and I’ve seen it. When the Arabs receive Yeshua or as they call Him Isa, Then the Jews are beginning to ask what is going on? The greatest Revival In Israel and the Middle East is near, right around the corner. Let’s agree that during this Hanukkah season the ‘light of the world’ will bring light to the ones who put ‘a light to the nations’ on their Hanukkah coin (see photo at top). Send the Light to Israel and all the Nations Lord!

What Type Of Prophet Is A More Than A Prophet Prophet

What Type Of Prophet Is A More Than A Prophet Prophet?

We are all familiar with the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:9 where Jesus asks ‘what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, and I tell you more than a prophet.”

Many sermons have been preached and books and other writings talking about the fact that Jesus said John was more than a prophet. But, have we really grasped what Jesus was saying? What was Jesus trying to say.?

I will only discuss this simply here for this could involve a great deal of discussion. Regardless, Jesus did in fact say John was a prophet. At that moment and time John the Baptist was in the Old Covenant and thus he was an Old Testament Prophet. So, what does that mean. Simply he was to remind the people of God’s covenant and call them to return to the teachings of God and His commands thus he was calling them to repentance, but in the Old Covenant.

John is often compared to Elijah and Jesus even said, “if you are willing to accept it he was Elijah to come.” (Matt. 11:14) Elijah did many things but the main thing is to call for Israel to return to righteous living, and obeying the commands of God. John called for repentance. All of the Old Testament prophets spoke of repentance. So we have established the fact that John was a prophet under the Old Covenant. Yet, here he is with the Messiah, Jesus the Christ the one many prophets spoke of.

If John was indeed a prophet, then why did Jesus say he was more than a prophet? This could be either a Messianic statement or eschatological one. In other words he did more than call for repentance, he pointed to the Messiah, and thus to the beginning of the “End of The Age”. The term eschatology simply refers to the end of the age or the time before the return of Jesus when he comes to establish His kingdom on the earth.

Malachi 3:1 talks about Elijah returning before the great and terrible ‘Day of the Lord,” which is often meant to refer to Jesus return. There is another Day of the Lord where judgment is meted out. That is later. So when Jesus said John was Elijah if you care to believe, He is saying in essence he is one that has come before the great Day of the Lord to announce it is near, or right around the corner.

So, John is a prophet who calls for repentance in the manner the Old Testament prophets and also is more than a prophet in he is saying the kingdom of God is here, because the Messiah, the one who rules and leads it, is here!

We know that Jesus later died in Jerusalem, in the manner of many prophets, but also arose and ascended to heaven where He is waiting to return. So, John was right in saying the Messiah is here and thus the kingdom of God was here, but it was only partially fulfilled. Also. Jesus continued John’s ministry in that he called for repentance, but as usual, He took it deeper calling for the Spirit-man to be born anew or come alive. That is how you enter this kingdom.

So, John was a prophet calling for repentance and change in living, but also more than that he established a new type of prophet or pattern in saying that the kingdom of God is here, now, because the Messiah is here and with Him is soon to come His kingdom established on the earth permanently. John pointed to more than changing your life to obey God’s word but he was also preparing the hearers for what was next. John’s was indeed a preparation ministry, making the way clear for Messiah.

In these last days it is more urgent now than ever that we declare more than just repentance, and repentance bearing fruit. We must declare that the kingdom of God is here, yes, even though it is only partial, but that it is also near, closer than ever. The fullness of the kingdom of God is ready to be poured out but we will only see the that when Jesus returns and sets it up. In the meanwhile as we get closer we will see more signs pointing to His soon return. Signs, wonders, miracles, judgments, etc. are all part of the kingdom of God. Like John, God has raised up and will continue to raise up those forerunners who are “more than a prophet prophets.”

You may not be called to be a frontline forerunner or carry that message with a burden, but f you are a believer in the kingdom of God then you have a voice and can still share the message of Jesus to repent and turn to Him and follow Him and prepare for His soon coming!!!

One of the hallmarks of John the Baptist is found in John 3:29, “the one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is made complete.” Preparing the way for Jesus’ returns is not a ministry of dread, but rather one of joy. All believers, but especially those called to point the way for His return should be full of His joy, not only for hearing His voice, but that He is coming.!

The Highest Mission With God

The Highest Mission With God

Image result for stand in the gap images

I am sure if I asked ‘what is the highest mission with God I would get a variety of answers, ranging from preaching the gospel, serving, international missions, or ministering to widows and orphans. While all of those are certainly Biblical, I believe there is one thing that is of greater value in the heart of God, and requires us to become a ‘friend of God.’

In his lesson book “Abraham Friend of God”, author Henry Blackaby says that “the highest mission with God is intercession.” He is of course relating primarily to Abraham and how he interceded before God for Sodom and Gomorrah.

I tend to agree and further see all of the above acts in the previous paragraph as examples of intercession. We typically don’t think of evangelism or serving as intercession. Of course I am really talking about someone who stands in prayer interceding before a Holy God to have mercy or bring salvation.

By definition to intercede means to intervene, mediate, arbitrate, negotiate. Another word found in the book of Psalms 106:30 is interposed. That was a physical act where Phineas a son of Aaron stood and threw a spear at an Israeli man and Moabite woman caught in sexual relations. God had forbidden the Israelites from intermingling with the nations they encountered and to keep them from idolatry. Phineas had had enough and stood and interced and by taking out one Israeli man, stopping a plague that was devastating the Israeli camp.

Of course throwing a spear is not something we do anymore as an act of intercession unless someone is physically attacking you or your family to bring harm or even death. Jesus death on the cross is definitely an act of intercession as He offered the ultimate sacrifice for mankind’s sins, He did what none of us could ever do. So there is no greater act of intercession and even now Hebrews tells us that Jesus is ever interceding for us before the throne of God. (romans 8:34) Jesus also taught us how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13.

Because we are in a fallen world and there are always needs and there are nations whose futures hang in the balance, and lives are at stake, literally and spiritually, the need for intercession before a Holy God is necessary. The fact is even though Jesus died for all sin and the gospel is free there are many who have never heard that or who do not believe and are thus destined for hell. There are the sick, the needy, the hopeless, the idolatrous, the thieves murderers, and so forth. There is ultimately the need for those who will stand and pray for cities, states, nations, etc.

By intercession in the Bible we are talking about standing in the gap, or making up the hedge. In Ezekiel 22:30 we see God is looking for someone to make up the hedge, “ I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before Me in the gap for the land, so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.” God was looking for someone to stand and intercede. The gap occurs when there is a breach in the covenant, a break in God’s laws and commands as a result of idolatry, murder, extortion, stealing, sexual sins, and the list goes on. Even the blatant defiance of our governmental leaders we see now is unprecedented and points to a bigger problem. Not only is most of the church not in alignment the nation as a whole.

The answers is for those who know how to stand in that gap and build a wall. Pray util the wall is repaired. That usually happens when there is repentance and fruit of repentance. We need to do that in our community, city, state, and so on.There are a few solid examples in the Bible of men that God mentioned as intercessors that knew how to get a hold of hIs heart. Jeremiah 15:1 “even if Moses and Samuel would stand before Me my heart would not go out to this people. Send them out.”

Obviously these two men were able to ‘stand before God and make up the hedge. Jeremiah was crying out for the people but God had made up His mind. He had made a covenant and Israel had repeatedly broken it until atlast God said the land needs rest from this sin, so He sent them away for 70 years. Both Moses and Samuel were two who stood in the gap for God’s people and were able to turn His heart from wiping them out. God is looking for people like Moses and Samuel who, like Abraham, He can call His friend.

In Ezekiel 14:14 we see three more men, Daniel, Job, and Noah mentioned as those God would listen to. What was it about these 5 that caused the prophets to write that regarding them? What set them apart? There was righteousness, yes and they were blameless before God. But I think over and above all of that was they knew how to stand in the counsel of the Lord and interced, they uderstood God’s heart for mercy and repentance. They understood the times they lived in and the people around them. 1 Samuel 12:22, for the Lord will not forsake His people for His name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you His people. You see God is proud and pleased of His people especially when they humble themselves and seek Him. He is not pleased with their continuous sin.

What we need are intercessors who are ‘friends of God’, who understand Him and all of His ways. That not includes His hatred of sin but how much He really wants to set His people . We need intercessors who understand all of God’s ways not just His hatred of sin and unrighteousness, but how much He loves and cherishes His people, and wants the best for them.

God is seeking in this late hour intercessors who can stand before Him and pray and make up the hedge for America, Israel, China, Russia, UK, France, Germany, India, Brazil and all of the nations. He is looking for someone who will stand up and say yes. This hour requires much more intercession, and intercession from a deep intimacy with the Father. We need His heart for America, and all of the cities. I challenge you to study the lives of Moses, Daniel, Samuel, Noah, and Job and look at their lifestyle of intercession and prayer. God is raising up and seeking and in need of those who can and will get in the gap and pray according to God’s heart

What’s Really Going On IN the Current Gaza Crisis

What’s Really Going On IN the Current Gaza Crisis!

Image result for jewish farms on fire as a result of gaza attacks

With all of the attention on the recent U.S. elections and then the prolonged ballot counting in two southern states it can be easy to forget about the rest of the world and especially Israel. There is an all out assault on the current administration and true Christian values and as we have seen even in state and local elections around the United States. This ultimately is a demonic assault conspired by various demonic forces that we are seeing played out in media, education, government, families, businesses, and all aspects of society.

Those same forces are working around the world and are bring anti-semitism and anti-Israel attacks to the forefront. Battles lines are being clearly drawn in the spiritual and natural. I have mentioned in previous writings that we as Christians are losing more and more freedoms and are thus persecuted but not at the level of other nations. At the same time, the wars in the Middle East are going on and Iran continues to be a major player. Worse is the fact since April there have been untold numbers of kites, balloons and rockets sent from the Gaza Strip into Israel reaching at times eerily close to Jerusalem. It has burned fields and olive trees and there has been much loss to crops and damage to homes and other properties.

This is obviously a new tactic setting kites and balloons on fire and sending them over to Israel. The latest attack resulted in hundreds of rockets fired by Hamas controlled Gaza. The Israeli Defense Minister Lieberman resigned last week citing disapproval of the newest ceasefire, brokered by Egypt. That resulted in all of Liberman’s party pulling out of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s cabinet and coalition government. That pulled the majority to just 61 of 120 seats, leaving Netanyahu a thin majority.

Another party threatened to pull out if that party’s man, Naftali Bennett, and all of there seats thus resulting in a dissolved government. You see things work differently in Israel. If the party with the most votes does not have over 62 seats in the Knesset then they must pull other parties in to form a ‘coalition.’ So many are in effect calling for early elections in Israel ahead of those dues late 2019. Prime Minister Netanyahu is focused on a war on three fronts and also is aware of what needs to be done.

You see many are newcomers to politics in Israel and thus may not understand the ‘bigger picture’. We know that Iran funnels money and weapons to Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza. So if Israel rolls into Gaza now it might be premature and cause a war on other fronts. Everything needs to be in place. But there is also a spiritual battle bigger than we can imagine. The area around the strip of land known as Gaza has never been occupied by Israel.

In Joshua 13 it was originally assigned to Dan and some parts to Judah. But if you were to look at any Bible map of the land of Israel and the 12 tribes division you would see Dan up near modern day Syria, and Judah confined to the region known as the Negev. The original promised land included the land area known as the Gaza strip. However, the children of Israel, i.e. Dan, were never able to occupy and dislodge the Philistines. So you see this problem is not a new one and don’t think it’s going to fix itself overnight or with one army attack. Further it is complicated by the fact that Iran or modern Persia is a major player behind the terror and providing weapons in the natural.

The Gaza strip as we see it on a map today was part of the 1948 partition, and was never intended to be possessed or ‘occupied’ by Israel or anyone else. From 1949 until 1959 t was administered by Egypt  under something called the All-Palestine government. From 1959-1967 it was still under Egyptian control administered as the United Arab Republic.

After the Six Day War when Israel gained control was under Israeli control. In August 2005 after building several settlements in the Gaza the Israeli government performed a unilateral disengagement and pulled all Jewish citizens of Gaza and gave control to the Arabs living there. Many Israeli’s supported this action thinking it would alleviate the situation and lessen tension. But, after Hamas was elected to run the government things have been quite the opposite, until we come to the current crisis.

It will take much prayer and intercession to see ultimate victory and it may not fully be won until Jesus returns. Yes, once again I’m pointing to the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, we must not get so caught up on things in the US or Israel or in any other country to the point we forget that we are citizens of the Kingdom of God first, and that God has plans for His Son to rule and reign. In the meantime just be aware that we are seeing things play out according to Biblical plans.

There are a few prophecies that mention the land of Shinar. It is first mentioned in Genesis 10:10, and 11:2 as the place surrounding the tower of Babel. Later it is mentioned in Zechariah 5 as the place where a temple is built for wickedness. Without getting into a lot of unnecessary detail we can definitely see that Sinar is important in the days ahead. Most equate it with being in modern Iraq and some Iran, but nevertheless, that whole area will definitely be a scene in the days ahead of more destruction and terror coming forth in the earth.

For now we need to pray that there not be early elections so that Prime Minister Netanyahu can focus on the bigger picture and see the necessary plans thwarted so he is forced to campaign instead of running a country facing terror on three fronts. Pray for God’s will and protection for IDF soldiers and families. Also pray for the people of Gaza for ‘innocent’ lives to be spared. Also, for revival, yes revival even there. Pray for dreams and visions and revelation of Jesus for all. For Hamas to put down their rockets, kites, etc. We have seen God great and wondrous things in the more recent past. Pray God’s divine intervention and at the same time for many to recognize God’s hand of protection and turn to Him.

As with our own situation we need to keep our eyes on the Father and Son and Holy Spirit. As Paul said “pray without ceasing.” (1 Thes. 5:17) Our only hope is in Jesus yet we need to pray for Israel and all nations as well as our own. There is a real, physical battle, but there is a greater spiritual battle. We can only fight the spiritual battles with spiritual weapons, and praying God’s Word is the best. There are many scriptures we can pray for Israel, but Psalm 122 pray for the peace of Jerusalem and Romans 10 :9 ‘all Israel shall be saved” are good starts.

Dealing With Delay

Dealing With Delay

We all face delays from time to time and for most of us it isn’t pleasant. My whole life I have faced seasons of what seemed like it was one delay after another only to look back and scratch my head and wander what was that all about. In view of the recent elections, especially here in my home state of Georgia I have pondered this alot. I knew in the second day or so that, at least in Georgia it was just a delay of the inevitable for one party. I remember a week later I was beginning to really get angry.

But, alas I remembered what I felt like the Lord was telling me that it was part of the process, and that yes, we needed to pray and pray hard, but it was all going to pan out. Finally, that is exactly what happened as we watched legal wrangling, and more attempts to try and change state law after an election, and postponing what was eventually going to take place.

Regardless of what side one was on in that election, it was all a process that after awhile I think most were just glad to move on. I want us all to look at delays we have faced in our lives. Delays for a major breakthrough, someone’s healing, financial favor, or maybe a big celebration. Often in dealing with a delay we forget that there are many factors involved. We do all we can and then we wait on God, or at least we are supposed to wait.

Delays come in many forms. Sometimes, as in the Georgia elections we have some indication that there might be a delay. We come to a deadline and whatever was supposed to happen never transpired. Then more deadlines are set only to see them pass, and then we begin to become distraught and feel defeated, until atlast we just give up. Sometimes it may be a test from God, others may be demonic warfare, and others just human circumstances, and yet God may be just protecting us and saying not this way.

Regardless of the reasons, we face delay, but eventually the situation is worked out one way or another. In the case of Jesus returning it has been over two-thousand years and yet He has not yet returned. In the first generation after Jesus’ ascension to heaven the early church began to think He wasn’t coming back and began to live so. No one lived with that urgency and they began to become lax in their living.

Jesus told us to be ever watchful for we don’t know the hour He will return. He gave us some signs so we would know the season but not the exact hour. Watching requires us to be on the alert, just as many were alert waiting to see an end in the election certification. Is it possible that Jesus’ return can be delayed? We pray to God the Father for mercy and grace, and for a revival and for the last Harvest. God pours out His Spirit, and we experience revival, the gospel is preached, miracles and signs and wonders occur. We see more signs pointing to His return but yet He delays. Why?

There are many reasons why Jesus delays in returning, but the main reason is because of what He said in Matthew 24:14, where we read, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.” You see, until the gospel of the Kingdom is preached in all nations, as a witness, He will not come back. How will we know when the gospel of the Kingdom has been preached in all of the world as a testimony? Jesus will return!

Secondly, He told the people of Jerusalem in Matthew 23:37-30, “ you will not see Me until you say ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’” That hasn’t happened either. Despite all of these delays they are only perceived delays. A delay requires a change in the conditions of the original requirements for meeting a deadline. Not preaching the full gospel of the kingdom in the whole world is not really a delay it is simply a requirement that must be met.

But, I adjure you not grow weary or lose hope because it will happen and will happen in a mighty way. Do not lose hope because He will fulfill what He promised. The devil is and will continue an all out assault on the saints to “wear them out” (Daniel 7:25) but they will persevere, until Jesus finally returns. It is not really a delay. We pray often for Jesus to come quickly. He’s ready but we need to be diligent to present the full gospel to all nations.

I exhort you to not lose hope in daily life in daily situations and keep focused on Jesus and His kingdom. When something seems to be delayed asked God what is going on. Don’t get apprehensive, grow weary. Keep your peace and joy for that is our strength.

Can A House Divided Be United?

Already so much has been said and written following the mid-term elections in the United States.  The news media, as well as all of the various leaders in the church have taken each their turns in assaying what happened and where we might be going. What happened is really simple we are a country that is very divided on a lot of issues, and yes, there is a lot of demonic warfare attempting to pull America off of her call as a ‘Sheep Nation.”

Nevertheless,  we still have to consider that there are real people taking on governmental positions, some that have no clue why they are there or what they are doing. But, here we are and now President Trump is forced to work with a Democratic party led House of Representatives. Maybe we can get something done. I’m sure that most conservatives are expecting a lame duck session with nothing accomplished two years. The Senate is led by Republicans and the executive is too. I think what we have is an opportunity.

I am not turning into a liberal or anything like that, but rather I am looking through the lens of the Father that says we have to heal, and  we have to attempt to find common ground and go from there. As Christians we can never compromise the gospel or God’s word. We need to see prayer return to schools, abortion on demand ended, among other issues. We must take care of the poor and elderly, and the strangers among us. We also must protect our borders, and protect our citizens from what comes through our borders.

It is not the government’s responsibility to feed the poor or take care of the elderly or orphans. In 1929 if the ‘Church’ in America had taken her role and helped the helpless when the stock market crash occurred we might not see a nation so dependent on government subsidies. Yes, governments do exist to serve the people and there is a role to play.  We cannot go back and change time and we are still a nation of varied ethnicities and religions.

The only hope is Jesus. But,  how do we make that work given the current situation? Our first mandate is to pray. I am reminded of what Paul wrote in Romans 13:1, ‘Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Then 1 Timothy 2:1-4 Paul writes, “I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings, and all who are in high positions”. Why? continuing Paul says, “that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our savior, who desires all people to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Wow, what a statement! You see as bad as we don’t want to, we are told to submit to our leaders, and further pray for them. We definitely do not have to agree with them, but honor their position of authority. That’s hard to swallow considering how the media and many have treated President Trump and other senior leaders. If we are to be light in darkness or to be salt in this society we must obey God’s word first, and not act as the others do. There is a day of justice coming, but we need to pray for all mens souls, for salvation, and for our leaders to have wisdom in ruling.

That means that I have to pray for newly elected member of Congress Rashida Tlaib, from Michigan’s 13th district who is Palestinian. Her family lives in the West Bank. She appeared on television after she found out she had won draped in a Palestinian flag, not an American flag. She is outspoken of President Trump and America’s relationship with Israel and vows to  vote against any funding of Israel. Yet I must pray for her. Proverbs 21:1 says that”the heart of the king is in the  hand of the Lord.” This means God can ultimately turn the king or ruler’s heart wherever He wills. But, He is not going to to do it without our prayers.

We all have our favorite agendas, and as we pray and vote and go through each day we expect to see change. Our first responsibility is our family and our community. God has called us to be faithful in our community and city, and some of us are called up higher to the state, regional or even National level. As disciples of Jesus we are citizens of the Kingdom of God first, and second, of our respective countries. As citizens of the kingdom and citizens of the United Sates therefore we must keep in mind our priorities. Obey Jesus’ commands to love the Lord first and then our neighbor as ourselves. Loving them does not mean we agree with them but we need to live a holy, Godly life before them.

If we want America to be a sheep nation again we must fully devote ourselves to prayer, and to living out Jesus’ commands before a people that seem to be becoming more and more wicked and unrighteous. I don’t think America is a a goat nation yet meaning it has fallen over to the hand and control of Satan, but is definitely divided between sheep and goats. The separation will get wider as wickedness and righteousness are more clearly defined in the days ahead, but we must pray for our leaders for repentance from sin and wicked ways, and if the time come,s we have to refuse to obey when it goes against the word of God and forces us to not serve God.

So, as Paul said, “Pray without ceasing”. And we all know the famous verse in 2 Chronicles 7:14 that states that if God’s people will repent and ask Him He will heal the land. So, in addition to praying for our leaders we need to pray for the land to be healed. The land itself is divided from all of the evil, and unrighteousness that abounds. It’s time  to get more real and more serious than ever about prayer. I pray a spirit of prayer and intercession fall on God’s people all across this nation to pray for the land to be healed and for our leaders.

In order to be fully united it must be through Jesus and Him alone. Nevertheless, we can and we have to work with those in authority. Jesus prayed in John 17 ‘that they all may be one.” He was praying about the disciples and the church but I believe that ultimately He was praying for all nations, tribes and tongues to be one. We are still one country, divided, yes, but we have an opportunity to see God move in our nation like never before.

Giving God Glory Ahead of The Victory

Giving God Glory Ahead of The Victory

This morning I awoke and realized it was a new month. I also felt like I heard the Lord say, it’s time to sing the ‘Song Of Moses”. You might be asking what in the world is that? It is actually mentioned a couple of times in the Bible, twice in the Old Testament and once in the New. The poem found in Deuteronomy 32 is often called the “Song of Moses”, but that is not what I am referring to.

After the Children of Israel were delivered by God from the hand of Pharaoh and the Egyptians it tells us in Exodus 15, “Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord.” Later in Revelation 15:2-3 we see that ‘those who overcame the beast and over his mark and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. (3) And they sing the song of Moses and of the Lamb.”

There is a picture around heaven’s throne of those who overcome the ‘beast’ and all of the end-time schemes, standing before the throne singing the ‘Song of Moses’. Notice they are standing on a ‘sea of glass’. The scene is a scene and it is right after they were delivered from on like pharaoh. They were delivered from a power known as The Anti-Christ Spirit, that I believe is not only alive, and has been for a long long time, but is growing more and more powerful each day. They sing the song after a great deliverance.

I feel like this is a season of many changes and many things we have been seeking the Lord about are coming to pass. Our prayers are not only being answered, and things are turning we will see great breakthrough in the days and weeks ahead. But why do we wait until the victory manifests? Why do we wait until we see things shift or we get our prayer answered and it comes forth in the natural?

A Lesson From Jehosaphat

2 Chronicles 20:22 (NLT) At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon Moab and Mt. Seir (Edomites) to start fighting against themselves.

In verse 21 Jehoshaphat had appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise Him for the splendor of His holiness, ahead of the army. They said “Give thanks to the Lord, for His love endures forever.

You see the Battle is the Lord’s. We see that the praise and worship preceded the enemy’s route. Not only that the enemy was confounded and confused. Praise is a weapon. We can’t go wrong praising and worshipping Him. In the Exodus 15 passage the key was they exalted God. When we lift Him up and exalt Him He is given freedom to move and work in our lives and in impossible situations. We are saying God I give it to you, I thank and praise you ahead for what you do. Of course it probably will not look like we want it to but we still should praise Him especially in the times we live in.

One of the tasks of he people of God is ‘to show forth the praises of God.” We must be consistent. The world is looking for answers and they are looking for a victorious church, not one that shrinks back when the enemy rears his ugly head and hides. WE need to demonstrate power in praise in everything. Paul wrote it best, “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thes. 5:18.

With the darkness in our country and with the elections due in just a few days we need to thank God and praise Him for hearing our prayers and answering them. It just makes sense. We live by faith and we believe that God hears us and answers our prayers, if we pray according to His will. I believe it is His will for America to experience an Awakening/Revival, and for Him to be exalted. He wants to be exalted in our government, media, arts, and all aspects of society. Lets praise and thank and exalt Him Now!!!!

Father God we praise and thank you for hearing our prayers to bring righteousness in our land, We thank and praise you for pouring out your Spirit on your Church and on ‘all flesh’ as you promised and for healing the land. Thank you in Jesus’ Name

Where Are The Noah’s In The Days Of Noah?

As It Was In The Days Of Noah! Where are the Noah’s?

There has never been an hour like the hour we live in now. The evil seems to be abounding and just getting worse. An increase in all manner of crime and at the same time there seems to be a ‘winking of the eye’, in turning away from some of the worst, most heinous sins. Mass abortion, human trafficking of all kinds, theft and burglary, murder, all on the increase, and there seems to be little punishment or no outcry. Not to mention sins of homosexuality, beastiality, pedophilia, among others. Yes, the times we live in are dangerous if you don’t know and understand them according to the word of God!

What am I talking about? Matthew 24:37-39 tells us that (37) ‘For the coming of the Son of Man shall be just like the days of Noah’. (38) For as in those days just before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, (39) and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.’ We all can recall the story of Noah’s Ark, and the flood. Genesis 6: 5-6 tells us that ‘the Lord saw the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.’ Verse 6: ‘and the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth and He was grieved in His heart.’

We know that evil abounded everywhere to the point that God had to cleanse the earth and that cleansing came in the form of a flood of water that covered the entire surface of the earth. V. 11 of Genesis tells us that ‘the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and was filled with violence.’  We certainly can see that the earth is full of evil and violence in this day. I doubt anyone can question how bad it is and that certainly the hour is pointing to what Christ was talking about in Matthew 24:37-39.

If it is supposed to be like the days of Noah, and there is evil continually, what else must be going on? It says people were marrying, eating, and drinking right on up until the ark was closed up and the rain began to fall. In other words, life will continue to go on in every normal aspect of daily life. People will continue to work and ‘just do life’. We won’t just quit eating or doing ‘normal life’. What it is really pointing out is many will just go on doing their own thing oblivious to what is going on. It will be irrelevant that we need to be prepared for Christ’s return.

We see today many are going about thinking they are alright. This is more common in the church where people are going about thinking “I’m ok,” and “all is well.” We often take the attitude that the violence or war or whatever is going on in another part of the world or our country doesn’t affect us. We act as if because  that is over there so I don’t need to be concerned. We take the old ostrich with the head buried in the sand attitude.

So, we see evil abounding and people not stepping up to the plate to stop it or atleast cry out. If we keep silent then we are as guilty as those who or going around acting unrighteous. I don’t mean we need to physically confront everyone, but rather we need to pray, lift our voices, or do whatever the Lord prompts us to.

2 Peter 2:5 says, “if God did not spare the ancient world but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others when He brought the flood on the world of the ungodly.’  In 2 Peter 3:7  we see that God will destroy this earth with a flood of fire. That will take place after Christ returns and sets up the ‘Millennium kingdom.’ But my overall point is if we are in the last days and these days are like the days of Noah, and there is coming a flood of fire, then we need to prepare.

Peter described Noah as a preacher of righteousness. My original question was where are the Noah’s? In other words where are the preachers of righteousness in these last days. It is the same message of John the Baptist or Elijah or any of the prophets. It’s the gospel of the kingdom. Repent, for the kingdom is at hand. The message has not changed. We have tried watering it down, or using gimmicks, tricks, and all of the things of the world. We may get some decent results for awhile or we may build huge buildings and ministry’s. But will it last?

Where are those who will stand up and cry out for righteousness to return to the Church, the true body of Christ. Where are the Noah’s who will prepare the people in the earth before the ‘things coming’ are finally here. Noah didn’t wait until the rain started and then say it’s going to flood. There is a fire coming to cleanse the earth and we must prepare the people. Preaching holiness is not in vogue. It is seen as Old Testament, legalistic, and not for today. God never changed His message but in the New Covenant, we have Jesus to lead us and be our example and the one who paid the price. Jesus actually makes it easier to live holy and righteous.

What do I mean by righteousness? Basically it means being right with God which means we can’t be without Jesus. So, we have to be right with Jesus to be right with Father. That is a simplified definition but it is not a difficult thing. It means we obey God’s word, without fail and because we love Him. It also has to do with being ‘just’ as in ‘just’ scales. He set boundaries for us to protect us not to be legalistic. Being in the world and yet separate.

So again I ask, will the Noah’s of the end times stand up and cry out for a return to God’s standard of righteousness. Where are those to prepare for the days ahead? In their book, The Elijah Task, John and Paula Sandford describe one of the tasks of Elijah prophets in the end-times as ‘to prepare men for fire.’ One aspect of that is in preparing the way for Christ’s return by preparing men and women for Christ’s return. It entails not just living right, but being cleansed and living pure and holy in an impure and unholy world until Jesus comes to take His bride away and we rule and reign with Him.

There’s A Cupbearer In Your Breakthrough!

There’s A Cupbearer In Your Breakthrough!

Everyone is constantly talking about needing a breakthrough in some area of their lives. Whether it is finances, family relations, or health we constantly are in need of a breakthrough. What do we mean by breakthrough? Merriam Webster’s defines breakthrough as an act or instance of moving through or beyond an obstacle. Literally it is to break on through. An example could be someone pressing or leaning onto a wall and suddenly they broke through into the other room.

Whatever your situation is you certainly are not alone in needing some sort or breakthrough. Often we call this a miracle, but technically they are not the same. Sometimes a miracle is exactly what we need and it requires a supernatural aspect, where God does something that goes against nature or natural and physical laws. For example, a limb growing back on a person that had lost an arm or leg, or unexplained money, or gifts, etc. In a breakthrough there usually is some sort of natural reason. In both situations God is always at work.

Often when we are desperate for a breakthrough we are crying out in desperation for God to move on our behalf. We wait long periods of time, with seemingly no results or little change. Sometimes God is holding back or their may be some spiritual reason like a demonic attack. But whichever the case we all need a breakthrough.

Consider Joseph in the Old Testament. He was carried off and sold into slavery by his brothers to the Ishmaelites and later a leader in Egypt. He served his master well in Egypt until one day Potiphar’s wife lied and told her husband Joseph sexually assaulted her, when actually he ran away. Nevertheless he was thrown in prison and forgotten about.

When Joseph was younger God spoke to him through dreams and confirmed he had a high calling. But Joseph let his pride stand in the way, and thus his brothers really hated him, and God needed to get rid of that pride before he could use him for His purposes. Now we find Joseph serving and surviving in prison, when one day two of Pharaoh’s servants are put in prison right alongside of Joseph. If you recall both had dreams that Joseph interpreted correctly. Later, the baker lost his head, and the cupbearer was restored to his position.

The cupbearer promised Joseph he would remember him when he was restored at Pharaoh’s table. What happened was quite the opposite. He completely forgot Joseph. It’s like he made a vow and as soon as he got out of his tight situation he forgot all about the one who had prophesied his release and restoration. Perhaps you have made a vow to someone and for some reason through time you failed to keep that vow. Or maybe someone vowed to help you and failed to.

Recently the Lord reminded me and my wife of some commitments we had made several years back. We had to honor those commitments. By the same token there may be people who are supposed to bless you or me and the Lord has placed it on there heart and they don’t obey immediately and over a course of time they soon block it out of their minds. I think we have all been at some time in Joseph’s position waiting for that person or persons to keep the commitment to you. Also, we may have been the cupbearer too.

But I believe the Lord wants to make things right. I believe there is a cupbearer in your life that may hold the key to a major breakthrough, and also you may be someone’s cupbearer. God puts us in positions sometimes because we are blessed and He trusts us to be a blessing. Perhaps it might be to a family or even your church or workplace.

I pray that the Lord will show you if you have made a vow to someone or if there is someone who has told God they would bless you in some big way that the Holy Spirit would remind them. I am not talking about small things like helping someone with yard work or a project. I am speaking of major things blocking you or me from moving on. So I ask the Lord the stir events to trigger the cupbearers in our lives to remember, and to remind us of our vows.

Insight To Understand What Is Going On In The Spirit Realm

Insight To Understand What Is Going On In The Spirit Realm

You have probably heard the saying, “A demon behind every bush.” We use that phrase to refer to someone that says and believes that behind every little thing that happens, for instance a headache, or a sore throat, a car breakdown, or being late for an important engagement is due to a demon or demonic attack. I am one that knows the power of the demonic realm and how it operates, I am fully aware that things also happen as a result of mechanical failure, or circumstances, or just living. We live in a fallen world and sickness and disease is one result. Yet we do see an increase in demonic activity and more teaching on spiritual warfare.

Likewise, there is an increase in angelic activity in these days. There probably is a demon behind every bush, but there most likely is an angel or two behind every tree. If God shows us demonic activity it is most assuredly to make us aware of what is going on so we know how to pray. It is called insight.

We need to use wisdom and discernment. We need to understand how the kingdom of darkness operates, so that we will not erroneously attribute everything as an attack of the enemy, but we may need to eat better or get more rest or make lifestyle changes. Yet, we need to remember also that the enemy is really out to destroy us.

Knowing that Christ has overcome the enemy and given us victory through His death, burial, and resurrection we should praise Him and know that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. Christ accomplished complete victory and has given us as disciples all that we need to live victoriously, including walking in the full power of the cross,  knowing that whatever evil we encounter we have victory and authority over it. I am not talking about people but rather as Paul tells us in Ephesians 6 ‘we wrestle not with flesh and blood but with principalities, rulers of darkness, etc.” In other words our enemy is invisible, yet God gifts some in the body to see or ‘discern’ their presence. Likewise there are those in the body gifted or are able to see and discern the angelic.

Why is there an increase in angelic activity in these days? We know that angels are messengers and are given assignment to help us. In the book of Revelation they are given to pour out judgment and wrath. They also came to Daniel and John with much needed breakthrough and revelation, some for the immediate hour they were in, and some for a future time, possibly our very own.

We are not to worship angels but we can revere them for who they are as messengers straight from the throne. Likewise, we are not to fear the demonic or Satanic realm, but revere the agents of darkness for what they are and can do. Reverence, not in a holy manner, but acknowledging they are powerful and can wreak havoc, but are defeated and we have been given authority over that kingdom.

In essence the angels then are coming alongside to assist us in the battles, warfare, and all that we engage in. Never has there been such open rebellion and downright spiritual warfare in our nation, and in the world. With that in mind, never has there been so much worship, prayer, intercession, and angelic activity in our nation, world, and perhaps in all of history.

Perchance this is a prelude to events described in the book of Revelation where angels are constantly doing something. The Old Testament talks about Israel being gathered back in the land in Jeremiah, Isaiah, and Ezekiel. Jesus talks about wars, famines, earthquakes. John writes about a lot of disastrous activity being carried on by angels. John also wrote and Jesus also spoke of a greater divide between holy and unholy, righteous and unrighteous in the latter days.

Obviously I am not saying we are at the point of all of the Book of Revelation, but perhaps the ‘birth pangs’ as Jesus described. If we hear more people describing angelic activity than before, and there is so much teaching on spiritual warfare, and understanding the principles involved, then certainly it is a prelude to events to come.

I have previously alluded to Daniel in other writings, and once again I go there where in chapter 12 verse 3 we find “And those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness like the stars forever, and ever.”

and in verse 10 “ many will be purged, purified, and refined but the wicked will act wickedly and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.”

Father I pray right now that you will give insight to your people in these last days, so that we can shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven. Purge us, refine us, and purify us to have insight and understanding.

Let us understand what we see and hear and know that your kingdom is greater in all it encompasses than the kingdom of darkness. Help us to shine as we prepare for your return.

It’s All A Matter Of Perspective

It’s All A Matter Of Perspective

As I sit under the shade of the trees at a table at the beach, I can hear the wind more clearly and louder than when I could just moments ago as I walked on the beach. In fact, I saw the waves and knew there was some wind, but it wasn’t until I sat away from the beach that I heard the ‘sound of the wind.’!

You see we walk through every day oblivious to what’s going on in the Spirit. We ask God to speak to us and yet we often are unaware that He is speaking or moreover that we can’t hear clearly. This can be done due to an improper perspective, as I had, or not being in proper alignment.

Perspective is defined as a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something, or a point of view. It can be one’s outlook or viewpoint. There are other various meanings, but this is what applies for my point.

As Christians our perspectives on any matter should always be from the point of the “Word of God”, and from what the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit say on a matter. Anything else is really idolatry and is a perspective born from this world. We all have opinions, but at the end of the day the only one that matters is what God has to say.

We often go to the ‘Word” and pray and still don’t get what we need. Why? Because we may be trying to interpret the “Word” of God or Voice of the Lord through a fleshly, carnal or worldly lens. In other words, we can try to make the “Word” say what we want or we become so caught up in our own lives we miss the bigger picture. We become inward focused and not outward.

Often we need to get out, like Abraham, to change our perspective. When Abraham looked up at the stars and God told him his descendants would number more than the stars his perspective changed. Had he remained in the tent or even in Ur of Chaldees, he would have missed what God was really trying to tell him.

Walking along the beach I see only what I can. I can only see from that point of view, the point from where I am standing. The same goes for hearing. As I moved away I saw the sun’s reflection on the water differently, more vividly. I also heard the wind with greater power and I saw the waves rolling in a different manner. Just a few steps one way or the other changes the whole perspective.

So maybe you need a change in lifestyle or routine. Get away from the city or go to the city. Wherever you are, perhaps you are not seeing or hearing what God is trying to say because you need a change of scenery or even a change of pace. It could be just a simple thing as how you approach God, or how you study the Word. You may need a slower pace or some may need more tasks. But, wherever you are ask God first what do I need to do differently? How can I get your perspective, Lord? We don’t want just a different perspective.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will direct you in everything you do and see and hear through the perspective of the Father. Finally, like Paul wrote in Ephesians 1:18, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, (19) an what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might.”

A Reminder Not To Stop Praying

A Reminder Not To Stop Praying

In the aftermath of the long, drawn-out Supreme Court Nomination of now Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh we must not lose our stride in continued sustained prayer over this country! We cannot as disciples of Jesus Christ, and those who want to see Him exalted over this great country, take too long of a breath or sigh. It is necessary that we continue to seek heaven and God’s throne and what He would have us pray for next. With that in mind I want to look at a couple of things.

As I sit here typing on my laptop I can hear the continued padder of what once a few hours ago was hurricane Michael. This is a massive storm and the biggest to hit the Florida Panhandle in at least 100 years. There will be damage and cleanup and many will be talking about it for days, weeks, and perhaps years. We must remember that hurricanes have been around for centuries. Perhaps as far back as ‘the days after Noah.” WE don’t need to focus on whether this is God’s judgment but rather how can we make a difference in the lives of those impacted. We need to be diligent to pray, give, and if directed to go and help. But pray we must.

For a while it seems the attention of the Kavanaugh proceedings have subsided with events like hurricane Michael, and the surprise resignation of Nikki Haley as The US ambassador to the UN. Even with all of that there is the bigger picture of the so-called mid-term elections taking place in less than a month all over the country. This is such a critical election. Those that believe that US president Donald Trump has done many good and Godly things to turn our country around need to take heed. We are still in danger of losing all that was gained if we don’t vote and pray.

The enemy has reared his ugly head and is stirring such an opposition in that if we don’t vote, and pray and fast we are not only of seeing the House and Senate in Congress lost to conservative Judeo-Christian values, we may see attempts to impeach President Trump and even some Supreme Court Justices. WE have already seen the ends to which the enemy will go to try to divide and tear up our country. Needless to say what will happen if we lose just one House or Senate seat not to mention state governor’s offices?

It is not my ultimate goal to write on politics but it seems that it is such a hot button now and we must get the mindset of the Lord. AS I have stated in previous writings God is neither Democrat nor is He Republican. However, for the majority of followers of Jesus, the values held by one party tend to lean more toward biblical standards and stand for what the Bible says.

Ultimately we must come together and pray for God to raise up righteous leaders and to turn hearts as we go to the polls to vote as led by the Holy Spirit, not by someone’s endorsement of a candidate or because we are mad about an issue. Let us pray for the elections, pray for the right person to replace Ambassador Haley, and also for our leaders. The Bible commands us to pray for our leaders, in the church, government and our employers.

The take away from all of this is that we cannot stop concerted prayer for our country, and our leaders. Also, pray for those affected by hurricane Michael in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and the Carolina’s. Pray for righteousness, and holiness, to return to the Church. There are so many things going on in our country and world we need to stay focused on Jesus and always look to Him and Him alone for the answers to all of theses situations and for direction as we seek to go forward in the days ahead.

Paul said it best when he wrote in 1 Thes. 5:16-18, “rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” I challenge you to develop a stronger deeper prayer life than ever before, and in these challenging days to continuously lift up our nation. We must persevere in all that we do, especially in prayers, supplications, and intercessions for our families, nation, churches, cities, and the nations of the world. We must also pray for “the peace of Jerusalem” as we are told to do in Psalm 122:6.

Remember the Law of Moses?

Remember the law of Moses?

Most modern followers of Jesus can quote Malachi 4:5-6 and can even relate a partial fulfillment of those two verses in John the Baptizer. In Matthew 11:4 Jesus even said ‘if you care to believe it, he (John) is Elijah to come.’ We also know that since John did not fully complete that prophecy there is one, or many who will have the ‘spirit and power of Elijah in the End Times.’ Books have been written and many prophecies and declarations and songs sung regarding the ‘days of Elijah’. But is there something we are missing?

The prophecy regarding Elijah speaks about turning the hearts of the fathers towards the children and visa versa. It also ends with the words ‘lest I come and smite the land with a curse’. The spirit of Elijah in the end times speaks of reconciliation and the generations learning from one another. Why would God need to ‘send Elijah the prophet to prevent the land from being smitten with a curse?

In order to understand that we need to go back to the preceding verse in Malachi 4, verse 4. The prophet writes “Remember the law of Moses My servant, even the statutes and ordinances which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel.” I believe there is a big connection between the law of Moses and the work of Elijah in these last days. The primary job of the prophets of Israel was to turn the nation of Israel back to the Lord. The prophets spoke the word of God by first telling them where they went astray, and then how to repent and get back to worshipping God and God alone.

Obviously, New Testament prophets have a bit of a different role but, aside from being five fold leaders they are to take a strong stand against sin in the church at large and in the land. Of course all New Testament believers should take a stand against sin and a strong stand for righteousness. But, some are given a voice to speak out and speak up for God’s truth and righteousness according to God’s word.

So, anyone desiring to, or claiming to come in, or walk in the power of Elijah in these last days should be a voice that can say loudly and sharply, “Remember the Law of Moses! Notice the writer of Malachi goes on to say even the statutes and ordinances which God commanded at Horeb. What statutes and what ordinances are these? Is this the Ten commandments given at Sinai? Most scholars equate Horeb as being the same as Sinai but there are a few that do not. We know that according to Exodus 3:1 Horeb is the place of the burning bush where Moses received his commission from God to deliver the children of Israel.

Moses received the Ten Commandments which later were expanded. The heart of God for the children of Israel is spelled out in these commands and statutes. They were built on to address specific situations they would encounter in the wilderness, but primarily after they moved into the promised land. The law was never given to be oppressive. Paul tells us the law is a tutor (Gal, 3:24) The two terms ordinances and statutes also refer to justice and judgment. The law requires judgment if it is broken. I am fully aware we do not live under New Testament law, but by the same token we are, in that Jesus came to fulfill the law. Jesus actually took the commands higher in that if you entertain continuous thoughts you have committed that sin. He also gave us a way of escape, victory, through His power, through the Holy Spirit. The point is we always want to throw the law out but forget the expectations of following Jesus are narrow and require us to remain separate while in the world.

But, Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to help guide us in the word and therefore enable us to obey and follow Jesus’ commands. So why is it important to remember the law of Moses for us? Or does it apply? As I said we are under the New Testament which requires more of us, but without all of the religious trappings and legalism the children of Israel were prone to fall into. It also frees us from sin to live holy and separate.

Malachi is giving a warning to Remember! what Moses wrote and was given as guidelines. To remember and obey. The children of Israel fell into patterns where they turned from God and He sent a deliverer and later a prophet, and they turned back and worshipped Him. The warning is when Elijah comes again or the ‘spirit of Elijah’ comes in the last days, we need to live holier, more separate and on more on fire for Jesus than any generation before. The warning is not to fall into the traps that the children of Israel did and turn away from following the Lord.

Jesus gave us a good example in the 10 virgins in Matthew 25. In this parable we know 5 were wise and 5 were foolish. 5 stored up oil and 5 didn’t. Storing up oil indicates the presence of God, in the Holy Spirit. In indicates staying in the Word, and prayer and worship. Obeying Jesus and His teachings and keeping the First commandment above all the others is part of being a ‘wise virgin’. They are called virgins in that they were chaste and set apart. The foolish one didn’t have enough oil, so that they were not prepared when the Lord came back. They didn’t stay in the word and pray and fast, and seek Him. Those are some of the things we must do to ensure we have enough oil. It is all part of the preparation for His return.

In these last days as we seek the Lord and wait for His return let us be diligent to obey all of His commands, not just a few, and not just our favorites. We don’t have a choice. Moses received the law from God and in turn gave it to the people. Elijah represents so many that interpreted that law and told the people what God required to return to Him. In the same way as Elijah’s are raised up to prepare for Christ’s return we need those who can remind us of the ‘law of Moses’ and do that in reference to Jesus fulfilling that law, and giving us the power and victory to walk out the life He purchased for us.

Finally, the law of Moses was given as a precursor to Jesus’ coming and points to reconciliation between man and God. It was an act of intercession, as Jesus hanging on the cross. The law was placed on Jesus and as he died was buried and raised again He fulfilled it all and has sent us as ambassadors to teach the ways of holy living, and God’s desire to reconcile the nations to Himself.

The Tabernacle Of David, Molech, and Kavanaugh

The Tabernacle Of David, Molech, and Kavanaugh

I’m sure you are wondering what these 3 topics have, if anything, to do with one another. Just seeing the name Kavanaugh perhaps turns many off and others may say oh no! What else is coming forth? Putting it simple there is a direct correlation with each other and with the children of Israel and what God desires versus our own desires.

Unless you live in a cave or under a rock you should be aware of the US Senate hearings that have been taking place regarding the nomination by US president Donald Trump of Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme court. This has been a highly controversial and debatable nomination that has brought out the best and worst in politics. Most people in the church have lined up on the side in favor of this nomination for several reasons. There has been such a vicious attack on this nomination, on the man and his character as unfit to judge. The news media which already hates Donald Trump has done a great job of all but destroying this man and his family.

Not since the nomination of Clarence Thomas have we seen such an outright attack on a Supreme Court nomination. Why are we seeing this demonic attack at this time? Why are we seeing continued efforts at delaying a vote or trying to force the withdrawal of this man’s nomination?

The main reason is due to the possibility of seeing a reversal of the Supreme court case known as Roe v. Wade which basically made abortion legal. Since that case and the victory by those in favor of abortion we have seen the premature death and murder of at least 60 million innocent babies.

This has been one of the hot buttons in the US that has often divided even Christians. This has often been done in the name of a woman’s right to choose or even womens healthcare. What really is at stake?

Who knows how many pastors, prophets, teachers, evangelists, intercessors, government leaders, and other servants of the Lord had their lives snuffed out before they even started? The government has paid for untold numbers of these abortions, with Planned parenthood leading the charge. It is Satan’s desire to snuff out any threat to his rule and prevent his future. But he has no new tricks.

In Amos 5:26 we read, “but you have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which you made to yourselves.” (KJV) The Children of Israel made many false gods, and among them was one they adopted from the Canaanite people known as Milcam or Molech. He was the god of child sacrifice. God was calling for justice in v. 24 because they did not bring Him sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness. After they entered the promised land at various times they turned away from the Torah and Yahweh worship to these various false gods. Amos tells us they built a shrine or tabernacle to Molech. They caused their children to pass through the fire. They acted as the pagans and turned away from God.

America has done the same and it has come to the point if we speak out we are using hate speech, Yes, we need to speak love over those who have undergone such procedures, but we have to speak up and speak out that it is an abomination to the Heart of God. What does this have to do with the Tabernacle of David?

In Amos 9:11-15 the prophet writes that God says He will rebuild the Tabernacle of David. That is a Messianic prophecy first of all but it also points to a time when worship and prayer in the style of the Tabernacle of David would fill the earth. There has been alot of prayer on the subject of ending abortion in the US since 1973. But more specifically there has been night and day prayer in many cities of the US and of the earth for over 20 years. The prayers of the saints have gone up to heaven and the Father has heard and He is ready to bring justice and righteousness in the earth and particularly the US on this subject.

We have been praying and asking God for a reversal and to end this abomination, so why should we not expect to see our prayers answered. The enemy is not going to let go so fast. We must continue to pray and fast more than ever to see not only the shrine of Molech, but other principalities brought down by the Father. As prayer has gone up and the Tabernacle of David has been rebuilt the shrine of Molech is coming down.

Like the prophet Amos I cry out for justice to roll down like waters. Isaiah 16:5 speaks of one judging on a throne out of love and faithfulness. This is Messianic and we know that Jesus will rule and dispense justice and righteousness in the age to come. But, we are building and preparing for His return as we cry out, worship, pray, fast and seek Him. We are building a throne for His brand of justice not man’s. Pray for God’s justice in this hour, not man’s and yes for the truth to come out.

Abraham Friend of God: Prototype of a Prophet (Prophetic People)

Abraham Friend of God: Prototype of a Prophet (Prophetic People)

Three times in scripture Abraham is referred to as ‘friend of God’. Why was this title given to Abraham? What made him so different? James 2:23 says that “Abraham believed God and that it was counted to him as righteousness, and he was called God’s friend. What was it that made Abraham to be called God’s friend?

Abraham was called out of Ur of the Chaldees from a family and people who were all moon worshippers. Abraham set out on a journey not knowing where he was going but he was obedient to God’s voice.I see four things that set Abraham apart. Remember everything he did was before the law and Torah and sacrificial system. What a powerful faith.

  1. Prophet Abraham- Genesis 20:7 and 17. God told Abimelech to let Sarah go and not touch her and Abraham will pray for him because he is a prophet. So we see here the first mark of a prophet or prophetic people is prayer. Also later in Genesis 18:17-19 the Lord said, “shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?” Later we see Abraham standing in the gap, as a barterer, interceding for Sodom and Gomorrah for God not to destroy these two cities. We see throughout scripture many examples of the prophets praying and interceding. Elijah of course was twisted and bent praying after his showdown at Carmel. Samuel and Daniel and of course Moses were all men who interceded and prayed for others. It is true that all prophets are intercessors but not all intercessors are prophets. But the church is a prophetic people and should be always praying and interceding.
  2. Trustworthy and Blameless – fear of God Genesis 22:12, 17-18; v. 12 the Lord said, “ do not lay a hand on the boy, now I know that you far God, because you have not witheld your son, your only son.” Abraham demonstrated holy, healthy fear of the Lord and at the same time proved himself to be trustworthy. God is looking for people who are trustworthy, people he can trust with whatever assignment he gives them. Also can He trust us with His secrets? In Amos 3:7 we find it says “surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets.” There are some things He shows us that are meant to be secrets until He is ready to have them revealed. Often He is wanting us to pray over a matter.

Being blameless does not mean you are perfect or even sinless, rather you are living a repentant lifestyle, and you are one who desires to please the Lord. You are not one given to cheat or steal, especially in subtle circumstances. You do not look the other way or wink at small sins thinking no one will ever know. No a blameless person is one who strives to do good and when there is a question of ethics or a simple mistake seeks to stay humble and not prideful. It is not about you or me it’s simply doing the right thing all of the time.

3. Obedient To The Voice of God: Genesis 22:18 God promised to bless Abraham and all nations would be blessed by his offspring just because he obeyed God’s voice. We know God had cut a covenant earlier promising among other things, that the nations of the earth would be blessed through his offspring. You see even though God promises us something He requires us to do our part. It may be as simple as just obeying His voice. We make it hard and difficult and come up with excuses. He is looking for those with a heart to obey the first time. Those who love the Lord God with all of their heart, mind, soul, strength, etc. A heart to say yes to God’s voice immediately demands that we surrender everything to Him to be useful fit vessels.

4) The Lord’s Agenda Genesis 22:18 Once again in this one verse we see another attribute of a prophet or prophetic person. Really, all of these apply to an disciple or follower of Christ. But those who speak the word of the Lord the requirements are tightened and more stringent. Abraham gave up his agenda. He knew the promises of God that applied to Isaac. He also knew God was faithful and would accomplish what he promised. Abraham had an agenda of his son, Isaac carrying on the family sheep business, and multiplying in number and would one day bless all of the families of the earth. Abraham didn’t know all that would be required by God to get to the place where his descendants would be like the sands of the sea.

In all that he did he surrendered and laid down his own agenda for the Lords. You see we all have callings and gifts, and promises from The Father. They are not for our own glorification, or our own agenda. We must empty ourselves of our plans or doing it our way every day. It’s God’s way and no other way. That is what a friend of God is, someone who puts his or her life on the cross and is raised up to newness of life in Christ. One whose sole purpose in life is to lay down their agenda every day. Paul said in 1 Cor. 15:31. “I die daily.” Let the be our motto as we seek to live to be ‘friend of God”.

There are many more qualities of a prophetic people, but my entire point is we need to let God develops character, and strive to be holy. No I’m not being legalistic. If we seek to be separated and used by Him, we must be holy, we need Godly character not what the world offers. I could look at other prophets lives and we could find these qualities in their lives. Men like Samuel, Moses, Daniel and Elijah. I pray the Lord will find each of us seeking to be His friend.
